March 13, 201312 yr Member We Love soaps confirms Sturat Damon returns as Alan March 29th. Both his & Chris Robinson (Rick) sound short term. Bet they both stay dead Edited March 13, 201312 yr by John
March 13, 201312 yr Member Have two ghosts ever had a fight on a soap? Because Rick and Alan wacking each other a la Hugh Grant and Colin Firth in Bridget Jones' Diary might be fun to watch.
March 13, 201312 yr Member The returns seem to be more about quantity than any kind of quality. That's what Ive been saying! Do people really still care at this point? Its all fluff
March 13, 201312 yr Member That's what Ive been saying! Do people really still care at this point? Its all fluff Right? Like id much rather these returns be spread out over time to craft stories and tell them. It's more than we'd have gotten with anyone else, I'll take it Your just fine and dandy with a bunch of meaningless, pointless returns just because they are returns? Ill pass. Even the ones who get some sort of a story, like Frisco, are so terribly done that i wish it just had never happened.

March 13, 201312 yr Member It might be kinda funny with Alan and Rick fighting in Monica's house and she doesn'r hear them....lol

Frisco's return being terribly done is partly to blame on Jack Wagner, who only agreed to return for a dozen or so episodes.
March 13, 201312 yr Member A dozen episodes is plenty of time for a solid return. If you want to see an example, check out how soaps used to handle returns.Like when GH brought back Jagger and Karen long enough to have them visit a dying Stone, or Robin imagining Robert and Anna to help comfort her when Stone was dying. They focused on empty nostalgia (a reunion that most current viewers likely do not care about) and overused flashbacks, instead of writing a story where he'd have to deal with being a lousy father, because a story with an actual purpose and heart is not something Ron Carlivati ever does. As for this return, I am mostly just happy that Stuart is well enough to film. I'm not interested in ghost Alan.
March 13, 201312 yr Member I think having as many as possible return for the actual 50th is fine. That's what should happen. But after that it needs to be thinned out and story-based.
