Even some characters I can tolerate, at times (like Sonny). It's not about who Steve is now, it is about who he could be. The Hardy name is something the show needs. The show was built on community and history, more than almost any other soap. The fact that "Cartini" have repeatedly brought in people from other soaps tells you how empty the canvas is. If his death only gets a shrug that also shows how pointless it is. "Cartini" have not written one death on this show that mattered, and they only wrote about two on OLTL that mattered.
