GH: Steve

The same reason why there'd be a need to get others to understand why they should care about the death of a character that GH has never attempted to craft in his own right.

If people don't care, I can understand that, but there's a reason why some would care. I hate the idea of "legacy characters." But Steven Lars isn't just some random long gone memory, like CJ Roberts. He could have been the future of GH, with someone in this role besides The Thing, besides someone hired because Steve Burton is a BFF. There's just nothing to be gained by killing him off.

Totally with Carl on this. I liked Shaun Benson in the role but hate SR. I wish they would just write him out and recast down the line.

I so agree, Carl. And I (too) like Shaun Benson's Steve; however, I still don't want him to be killed off. IMO, this character SHOULD be the male lead on this show. If they're gonna kill anyone off, get rid of Sonny. Dante. Michael. Not a Webber.

I just hope that RC goes all out at the funeral, which I doubt he will, and bring back the existing Webbers for his funeral.

laugh.png @ the outrage over Steve dying even though not a single one had any use for him since ever...

I know right.

Wasn't the character completely off the canvas from the time he was in diapers up until 2005 when that curly haired guy played him (to minimal effect). Even when Scott Reeves took over three or four years ago, he always seemed to be just underneath that of a supporting character. I think rumors of his importance have been greatly exaggerated.

Importance isn't all that much about airtime. Starr has had tons of airtime in the last year and she's a completely useless character to GH.

I loved Shaun Benson as Steve. He was hot, a decent actor, and had chem with a ton of people. Ill always be thankful to Jeanie Cooper for pulling his pants off at a fan event in las vegas, lol.

Carl, I've never seen a single fan of Steven Lars - not in his current incarnation or the previous one. At best, he's been met with indifference and at worst, he's been considered a punchline. Had there been a single occasion where he'd been considered useful to the canvas, I'd be more inclined (attempt) to understand why folks are up in arms over this.

Steven really is one of those legacy characters who is legacy in name only. He has never left a lasting impact with any story or recast or pairing he has been in.

I dont really care about Steve, I just think its unnecessary for him to be killed especially protecting Sabrina

That still doesn't mean kill him off. That means find a proper recast and write a proper story.

Totally. The most propped girl in the history of soaps? She def belongs on the list...

This can be said about any character at any point on any show though.

Precisely. This show never provided me with any reason to do so - no matter who played him - so his upcoming death only warrants a shrug at best.
