Members ChitHappens
The truly fucked up part of this is that a veteran GH character who happened to be the grand/son of legacy characters was pushed out the door for a no talent dreadful horse whisperer Valentini hadn't even secured. Like Burton or not, he was a GH character and to be shoved out for this type of embarrassing sloppy nonsense is all types of wrong! Whenever OLTL was the main focus, the numbers took a dive! Members Khan
. I'm with Errol, marceline. Your analysis is hilarious and on-point.
Members Antoyne
I'm okay with Burton being gone. He and Jason's Box of Pain could've taken a swim in the harbor years ago..
Members rhinohide
I'm ok with Burton leaving too. I think it will be good for him. But I am wholly in favor of OLTL getting OLTL characters back and having control over their stories. If GH wants to keep the actors, I'm all for that too. PP can recast, and GH can come up with some lame way to keep the actors. I think it will be a huge cluster**** but that's what Carlivati does IMHO. It will be like Claudia Zaccharus times three. Members jjjg
He wasn't pushed out the door just because they didn't cater to his every whim of when he wanted to work doesn't meant they didn't want him to stay. He and/or JFP have said that she worked around his lifestyle schedule of wanting to live in Nashville. FV came in and changed that and wasn't catering to Burton's personal wants for his taping schedule (nothing wrong with that at all, about time people came in and made that place less like highschool). Steve chose to leave at the end of his contract because he didn't get what he wanted. He went to Y&R where once again he got JFP to give him the schedule he wants and cater to him. Members JackPeyton
Roger will be Tom Hardy Jr. Alderson will be Serena Baldwin. Easton will be Caleb. how? why? does it matter?
Members DRW50
I wonder how many GH viewers would even want any of these people on their show. They should do a big poll and base it on that. Alderson in particular seems to have had a frosty reception.
Members AdelaideCate007
Don't even put that out in the universe.
Members DRW50
Howarth can't play a character beyond Todd - he can barely play that. But he might be OK as Tom. Alderson as Serena, I can't see.
Members Goldensoaps
If Starr,Todd and John must return to OLTL(Great!!!)....I also hope that Frank Valentini and Ron C. returns too. These two are the best of daytime and OLTL deserves to have the best of daytime!!! I started to watch GH the day Starr arrived at Port Charles....and I will leave that city when Starr, ( I hope Michael Corinthos too), John and Todd leave!!!!! Just after the 50th anniversary....And hello Llanview!!!
Members quartermainefan
I will miss Todd. RH is great and he really added some humor to the show.
Members Cat
Well, [!@#$%^&*]. This sucks. Not interested in watching BudgetOLTL which plans to "skew younger" (hello Fords!). And I actually like Todd and McBain on GH (Starr, I can do without). Do I like them more than Anna, Robert, Duke and Faison? No. But I do enjoy their scenes. I hope they return to GH in short order. Something tells me that OLTL2 may never make it to air... PP may well have paid to extend its license of the show just so ABC couldn't get it back. Members Ann_SS
Burton's departure is the best thing to happen to GH lately. He should have been shoved out that door years ago. Which he proved on ATWT, where he played Paul as Todd 2.0. The man has absolutely no talent. Even ME could play Caleb and McBain as two distinct characters. Members OldGHFan
ITA. Jason, along with Sonny and Carly, sucked GH dry for over a decade. It's so refreshing to have Jason gone. I would love for Sonny and Carly to be gone as well but I have to admit I don't mind them as much anymore. They are no longer the sole focus of GH and they have more layers now. Burton leaving to be on his friend Jill's show is the best thing that has happened to GH in years. I feel sorry for the Y&R fans.
Members Ann_SS
Exactly. Of the three air hogs, Burton was always the worse to me. LW and MB, at least, made the effort to try to be interested in their stories at times. And whatever issues I had with MB, Guza's Sonny stories could bring in the sweeps ratings. In contrast, Burton has walked around with an expression of perpetual boredom for YEARS. He had some freaking nerve being threatened by his reduced airtime and TPTB establishing McBain as a rival for Sam's affections. Good riddance to him. He deserves to be a little fish in that Y&R shark tank. The best part is that GH did not collapse when he left despite the claims of his fans and the network. GH is hanging in there.
