LML was actually one level below her; the writer's strike and zero preparation for ANY material to air simply broke her neck. E.g. she killed John Abbott for sh*t and giggles because a reprieve was too unrealistic for convict John. (Nevertheless, John Abbott got te reprieve and suffered a heart attack (?) in the same episode...) Ego tantrums at Y&R amongst the actors were massive under her reign, long-time staff fired and replaced by HER croonies etc.

Yeah, it's Daniel James O’Connor. He worked his way up OLTL (he was a Writers Assistant and Continuity Supervisor) and then eventually got his shot at writing scripts and breakdowns. He took over Shelly Altman's spot at OLTL and now he's taken her spot at GH.

When the P&G soaps were still around, they had the production company, the network, and the show each wanting their own thing too. It's "too many cooks in the pot" but it can help too. It's not that unusual for soaps to have this power struggle. ABC is the only place where the network owns the shows, and that was part of why Brian Frons was able to ruin their whole lineup.

Since I started watching a couple months ago, it seems like Days has been pretty stable. No stop-start bring on a character for a week and write them off like Claire Labine's GL felt like with her clashing with Paul Rauch. Whether there are differences or not, it seems like everyone at the show is giving the new writing team enough time to prove itself.

I have questions about Alex Douglas and Jeff Wilber I know Alex wrote on Royal Pains but is it the same Alex Douglas who wrote these stories Sins and Lovers, Seven Days to Love, The Price, Absolution, Outcast or is it a different Alex Douglas like this one --> http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1279152/

http://www.pbmanagement.com/jeff.html <- is this the same Jeff Wilber, who will be writing OLTL

or is this Jeff Wilber? ---> http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1599675/

Basically the more fancy title.

A breakdown writer just break up the gist for the particular episode for the script writer whereas the associate head writer is working underneath the head writer and usually mongst severeal colleagues in the general longterm plotting for a week+
