Members Khan
I hope he was coherent. Did I say "coherent"? I meant...well...I don't know what I meant.
Members Angela
ITA, with both of you. She was green in the beginning but always had a really nice level of charisma that made up for that. I came back into AMC intending to hate the recast of Kendall, but I never actually could. AM only got better and better over time and was generally good to very good. It went downhill in 2007 - 2008, but IMO that was the writing. They went hardcore into turning her into heroine (due to the popular couple trap), and the annoying kind. I'm surprised AM and the character were able to hold it off as long as "they" did actually though. I do agree that the character can be recast though. I actually sort of liked Wendy Moniz on GL, Carl. Dinah was another character that was in line with Sami, Kendall, Carly archetype. Okay so AMC's cast is... Zach, Griffin, David, Jesse and Angie, Cara and Opal. You got some good names here in terms of actors but that's not functional. I think that's what people mean when they "WTF they going to do with that?" AMC's list. And you're missing the Kane's, Martin's and Chandler's rather completely. Members John
Rumors from DD. Take with Grain of Salt Michael Easton will be pulling double duty between General Hospital and One Life to Live. I'm still unsure how this will be accomplished. Kristen Alderson is set to head back to One Life to Live. The biggest holdup is with Roger Howarth. He seems more than willing to return to One Life To Live but he wants it to be a shorter time period than planned. It looks like the actors will have a two to three month stay on One Life to Live if all the details are worked out between the actors, ABC, and PP. Expect some resolution and/or announcement soon. If True, Sounds Like KA & ME worked out a deal to stay on GH but visit OLTL from time to time. Sounds like RH wants only a one time temp return to OLTL & then back to GH. PP probably wants RH's Todd to visit OLTL when story warrants
Members Angela
Errol, or anybody really, do we have any idea on the length of contracts for the actors and their commitment to PP this time around?
Members hsfolk
I know they said they didn't want to bring people back from the dead, but I want them to make an exception for Hope &/or Cole
Members jfung79
Thanks AllMyDaysatGH, glad you and marceline remain optimistic too. As for the Kwatinetz story, I'm also glad he wants the soaps to be topical. AMC and OLTL have had that tradition before and it's something soaps have done well in the past. I think if this is what he wants, they should try to get some writers from Degrassi, which has always incorporated issues as part of its mission, especially as the Degrassi writers are already familiar with 4 days a week format and can write both younger characters and familial relationships convincingly. I am not as negative about soaps today though -- even Days is realistic and has an element of social relevance with Will's story right now. Members KMan101
I am very onboard with topical storylines and edgy drama. I think the stakes should be raised. My ONLY concern is they're doing these stories just to do them. I'm sure that won't be the case, I feel like we can trust Thom and Susie not to butcher the characters for the sake of a "cutting edge" (lol) storyline. Members marceline
I don't think that they literally meant they won't bring people back from the dead. I took it as meaning that they are aiming for a more Shonda Rimes style of storytelling. More "ripped from the headlines" type of stuff. That was my take on it. Members Angela
They probably mean they won't do a storyline based on it like AMC's last major storyline. I'm sure they would not be opposed to doing a back from the dead storyline every now and then if it's not too sci-fi based.

Members marceline
Exactly. If they wanted to avoid all soap conventions, they wouldn't have hired soap writers.

Webmaster Errol Posted January 23, 2013 Webmaster Share Posted January 23, 2013 I'm resting right now and have five things to report on. Can news please slow down? I'm trying to get better as fast as possible.... The Foz news is not shocking and I did know about it. I just didn't think it was newsworthy without some actual info on why. Guess some of us have different reporting standards.
