EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I can't even picture a sophisticated OLTL. I'm excited to see what they have in store for the show. I really hope they contact Robin and Erika about returning with SBH at the helm. I've always wanted 90s version Dorian to return after everything Carlivati put her through.

Loving the OLTL staff so far though.

I agree with the assessment that Marlene McPherson's stories on Days were boring and usually never lead anywhere. And she even had a dead character (Alice Horton) behaving out of character. When she was fired, she claimed that the network interfered and wouldn't let her and Darrell Thomas tell their stories.

Speaking of Hogan Sheffer, SoapSuds, i could see him being tapped to co-write AMC. Wasn't he interested in AMC at one point long ago? And I don't think he's doing anything now.

i was prepared for the possibility of the worst -- plot-based writers with poor understanding of character who can't come up with good plots either liike Jean Passanante or Leah Laiman -- so honestly hearing that someone who wrote Will Horton's coming out story and brought back vets to her show (John and Marlena) is going to be writing AMC does not concern me in the slightest.

Will turned into a raging anger boy who cried and yelled almost everyday and she revealed that John and Marlena weren't married bc Alice Horton was keeping the secret that he was married to Hope and that story amounted to nothing but him being stick with Hope in a foreign country for months trying to get a divorce which they never did under her writing. Everything she wrote was a mess and it shouldn't have been

I've been watching scenes from about December 2011 onward with Will on YouTube and they're really impressive. I love the way he interacts with Marlena and Sonny as he figures out who he is. He isn't yelling in those scenes but I did see some clips of him yelling at Gabi, not sure of the date and not sure which headwriter wrote them. I do know he is mad at Sami at this time but it doesn't seem that unreasonable.

No, didn't watch the show at the time though, so can't comment on the show as a whole. I am still pretty confident that she can't be that bad compared to the dreck that soaps I was able to keep watching like Jean P.'s ATWT and Leah Laiman's AW were.

I really don't know how this ridiculous rumor started. ABC licensed the shows to PP; they didn't sell them. Therefore, it makes no sense for ABC to have to pay for characters they already own. If ABC had to pay for those characters, then they would have also had to pay to air the "classic" AMC/OLTL repeats on SOAPnet, and we all know they wouldn't waste money on that when they could just do reruns of beloved series such as Bank of Mom & Dad and Southern Belles: Loofah.

Can you talk about the situation with the former “One Life to Live” characters who are on “General Hospital”? Can Prospect Park demand the return of Todd and John and force you to write them off?

I can’t really talk about that because there’s a lot of legalese involved in that. But everything’s going to work out. I know it’s all going to be great.
