Members Graham
The greatest soap star Is unquestionably Susan Lucci. Greatest actor is harder. Beverlee McKinsey, Erika Slezak, David Canary. Lots to choose from.

Members ~bl~
Mary Stuart grew into the role as matriarch on Search for Tomorrow. She was the first person to make it 35 years on an American soap opera, as she was on SFT from its beginning to end.
Members partyperson25
In my eyes,Jane Elliot. She is wayyy too underrated for a soap actress
Members Pine Charles
I never heard of Mary Stuart, either... until I did research on various soaps a few years back; she was the matriarch of her show. But, yes, I doubt the average person would recognize her name. Star? No. Actress? I'm not sure, as I haven't seen much of her work. I think there's some confusion whether the OP is asking the top star or top actress. There's a definite difference between the two.

Members allmc2008
I meant Actress/Actor NOT star. Is there a way to change the title of the thread?
Members quartermainefan
I don't think Jane Elliot is underrated at all. Has there ever been anyone anywhere who has not sung her praises? Isn't it a given she is the cream of the crop on GH and basically considered one of the best in daytime? Members NothinButAttitude
Lisa Brown. I missed her original run as Nola, but I got to see her second run (when they had her stalking Buzz -__-), but from what I've seen of her runs as Nola and Iva, she has the goods. Members partyperson25
In our eyes, most defineitly yes. But do the writers of GH give her that much air time? Not enough. And has she won any sort of awards lately (Daytime Emmys)? No,which is very, very sad on GH's part and stupid because she is beyond an amazing actress, has been, always will be for years and years to come. Members Y&RWorldTurner
Jane won a Daytime Emmy in 1981 for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role. Isn't that enough?
