This. I think some fans like GH and some fans don't. I don't think it is on the major creative upswing the soap press does. It's very different from Guza's GH, so it seems fresh, but there are still many glaring problems with RC's vision. There are way too many characters getting airtime that I have little to no investment in (Sabrina, Felix, Britt, Trey, Starr, Kate, Ellie, etc.), the pacing is horrible (Robin's story, anyone? or the Connie story, which is about four months past its expiration date), and there are some bizarre loose ends (the Tomas story, Jason's death). I am liking Aj and Lucy's returns and the Duke/Anna/Robert/Robin story, but there are other stories that are just horrible (Kate's DID, Olivia's visions, Starr/Michael's romance, Ellie/Spinelli/Maxie triangle, whatever is going on with Britt/Sabrina/Patrick) plus there are characters just floundering without any story (Liz, Alexis). And Sonny's storyline is trying to 'flirt' Connie into Kate. Just send MB on a long vacation and say he is with Brenda or something because this [!@#$%^&*] is just a waste of airtime. Plus, as unpopular as this is, I think Jason's exit was horribly mishandled. I have no use for Jason, but he drove story for 15 years and just 'dies' with a whimper. I think he at least deserved a funeral. Literally no one cares he is dead including his soulmate Sonny and his biggest fangirl Carly and it just seems so odd. So, in conclusion, I guess RC is better than Guza, but certainly not the savior of GH he is made out to be.

It's maddening how the audience has changed over the years and is willing to accept trash. FRon's biggest problem? They are not writers and it shows! They bypass anything that will cause them to sit back and think, anything that remotely resembles depth, they continuously betray the characters, etc. They take the easy route each and every time. GH was never camp! Never! No matter how much you may not have liked previous regimes or who was killed off, stories were told and the majority of the character's didn't have us scratching our heads! You can't rely on anything that comes out of the mouths of these characters, and EVERYTHING has to be retconned in case that moron hack changes his mind.

And yes, Jason's exit was horribly handled!

Like Guza or not, imagine The Metro Court Hostage Crisis under Ron?! I shudder! At least Guza/Phelps were smart enough to enlist the help of a consultant for that story.

This ELQ storyline is terrible with paper thin motivation, crap plot details, cartoon characters (Tracy and Lucy), and totally is just totally unrealistic.

Can they get rid of Betty, I mean Sabrina, please? She's on way too much for a new character (not to mention, she's the driving force/main star in this Nurses Ball storyline). There is not enough reason to care for her, and her development has been really badly executed.

Ron is better than Guza - by far. But GH will never be as good as it once was (think 80s and early 90s) because they don't have the money or the time (so many weeks that are "dark"). So for me, I'm enjoying parts of GH that I'm enjoying. I still FF the characters that I don't want to watch (Sonny, Kate, OLTL characters) and don't turn on the TV the days that don't seem interesting to me (see today). But GH is no longer just about 3 characters (Sonny, Carly and Jason) and the vets seem recognizable to me (which is important as I'm a long time fan.) The plots still seem to be all over the place (where are Anna, Duke & Robert?) but I'm okay because the writing for them is so much better under Ron. And history is being respected instead of spit upon. GH is so much better than it was just a year ago.

I get the people that don't think GH is some outstanding show. But I honestly don't get how anyone could say that Guza was better than Ron.

GH was camp during the 80's. I remember the whole carnival story with a woman...cant recall her name..trying to kill Felicia and Co. while following them through a carnival...that was pure camp....lol

I am not even going to compare anyone to Guza anymore - that discussion has been beaten to death. Some people just use Guza's mistakes to justify the current GH's shortcomings, as if that's some type of excuse.

It's not Guza's fault that Carlivati is terrible at pacing stories, his character are all either black or write (with no layers at all), his new characters are being force-fed with little to no development (Sabrina), etc. These issues have nothing to do with Guza.

This type of "writing" is why I no longer give hack Tyler Perry the time of day any longer. Todd has already made a fool of Carly, so the scenes today were for what exactly? Tyler does this crap as well. They beat the point into your skull even though you already get it. That type of "writing" scares me. It's pathetic. First we have to watch Carly be dumbed down to make her fit with Johnny. Now, she's just a complete idiot? For what? I still ship Tarly, but that's largely due to what LW and Roger do with the material. They are great together.

Loved the trio but was happy when Garin moved Carly away from it so much but kept the relationships in tact. There is no need for 3 characters to dominate a show with about 30 contracted players!
