Members Khan
Get it rolling where? Into a volcano? I agree that DAYS is boring, but you'll never hear me advocating hiring MMT for any HW'ing job. Nope, won't do it. Oh, please. Even MacDonald Carey said GV made GG and EM redundant from the moment he was hired.
Members Dr Neil Curtis
Can someone explain something for me. Where did EJ get the Wells name from? I know I been watching for years and Susan was with Edmund Crumb, not a Wells man. Someone is insisting Susan arrived in Salem already preggers with EJ and with a Wells man. Members Cheap21
Maggie telling Jenn to butt out of Daniel's life. Wasnt she the bitch who was pushing for them to reunite like 30 seconds after finding out Jack was dead?
Members SFK
I'm guessing Jennifer's uncle was Mickey and Maggie is her aunt by marriage. Who are Jennifer's parents? Also, how did Mickey die and was JI playing him at the time or did they bring back the original actor (I'm forgetting his name, I know he retired some years back). Also, I seem to remember reading something about Kevin Dobson playing Mickey?
Members Khan
Bill and Laura Horton. Mickey died of a heart attack (?) while he was upstairs at his and Maggie's house, getting ready to take her on a much-needed cruise. Maggie found the body, but was too stunned initially to call 9-1-1 right away. It's only when Hope came over because of some drama she was in the middle of (forget which) that Maggie let it slip in mid-conversation. To answer the other question, though: no, JI had returned to GH (and Edward) long before then; and John Clarke, who originated the role, never returned either. He did, for awhile. He wasn't very successful in the role, however, prompting DAYS to make the decision to kill off Mickey.
Members SFK
Thanks so much Khan! I'm new to DOOL. A lot of these names and faces I have known for years from flipping through soap magazines but never really knew how they all connected. Laura was Susan Flannery/Jaime Lyn Bauer, right? Who most famously played Bill? It's too bad Kevin Dobson has had like zero luck in daytime.
Members Khan
Yep. Susan Flannery was the second (and most famous/popular) actor to portray Laura (after Floy Dean, I think?). Two other actresses, Susan Oliver and Rosemary Forsyth, succeeded Flannery before DAYS wrote the character out. When Laura was released 13 years later from the sanitarium, it was with JLB in the role. Of course, I consider Edward Mallory to be the most famous for portraying Bill Horton, because he originated the role, as well as the fact that he was there for Bill's most important stories (i.e., the Laura/Bill/Mickey triangle and Mike's paternity drama). Others, however, probably feel Christopher Stone, who portrayed Bill during the mid- and late-1980's, was equally good at portraying him.
Members Paul Raven
Laura was originally played by Floy Dean. When Bill Bell took over in 66 Susan Flannery was cast and played Laura thru 75.Susan Oliver was a short lived replacement and then Rosemary Forsyth took over until the character was dropped in 1980. Jaime took over when the character returned in the 90's. The late Ed Mallory was Bill for 14 years. Paul Carr was the original Bill. When Bill came back in the 80's Christopher Stone was cast, but Mallory did return for some guest stints. For Alice Horton's funeral. John Martin was cast as bill. Members Khan
Ohhhhh. I had no idea Mallory wasn't the original Bill. Thanks for the clarification, Paul!
Members SFK
Thank you guys for all this info, it's helping me put the pieces together. So much better than looking it all up on SOC.
Members Cheap21
Today's show was really, really boring. First truly awful show in a long time for me
Members Bright Eyes
Peter White (Linc Tyler, AMC) also was a temporary recast for Christopher Stone in the 80's. However, no one in their right mind thinks of Stone as Bill Horton. That's just wrong.
Members Khan
My favorite part of SOC: when SOC's editors clearly have made up exit circumstances for characters who never had none.
Members JackPeyton
as much as i hate the contrived mess of daniel as maggies egg baby, i sure do love seeing maggie in mama mode and telling jennifer to step the eff off.
