For the geniuses of that genre of television (Aaron Spelling, Sidney Sheldon, Judith and Steve Krantz and, of course, Jackie Collins) I hope they knew what their shows meant to you and others who share your story - I think it's incredibly touching. I think Aaron Spelling did, which is why he revered his audience so greatly, and Jackie Collins did which is why she kept writing.

Agreed about It's Hard to be Tender - it really is a sad, beautiful song. I think it captured that mini-series really well. It also captured a certain essence of Joan. Joan demonstrated that she could produce a highly successful piece of commercial television with that mini-series - it looked first class with all the location shooting and the Valentino wardrobe. I've wondered how Carly came to write the theme for the mini-series, the only connection she and Joan have is they both dated Warren Beatty.

Loved this show as a 10-year-old. Still do. And loved the theme! (Done by the late, great Henry Mancini.) Young Pierce Brosnan...rowr!

This theme, called Laura's Theme, was also by Henry Mancini and was the song used in the S1 intro for "Remington Steele":

I don’t know if anyone watches the Japanese show Terrace House on Netflix, but they have my favorite reality-show opening credits outside of the Real Housewives.

This show is a textbook example of a show that ran waaay too long (372 episodes, 1992-2010). The first years were fantastic, but then, after the death of leading lady Kate (Niamh Cusack) the show began a slow but relentless decline. The last few years it had deteriorated into almost a caricature of itself. All the grittiness and realism of the first years were gone.

But I will always treasure those first years as some of the best on television.

It probably could have run longer but ITV was on a mission to kill off their long-running shows at this time (The Bill, Heartbeat, Wild at Heart, The Royal). I know some stopped watching after Nick Berry left. It was also another of those shows that never left one decade, wasn't it?

    • What consequences are there to suffer? He didnt commit any crime and everyone already hates him. If anything this will set back the progress he's made with Naomi
    • Yes and I also loved how she focused on Chelsea and Naomi when she spilled Bill's involvement in all of this.
    • Danny: Don't drink it. Just hold it. Rocco drinks three laced cups.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
