May 24, 201213 yr Member ABC Soaps In Depth Official Page HLN will broadcast the Emmys... details to come in a minute! http://abc.soapsinde...-a-tv-home.html At last! The National Academy Of Television Arts & Sciences has worked out a deal with cable network HLN Television Network to carry the live broadcast of the Daytime Emmy Awards! "NATAS is very excited to announce that the 2012 Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on HLN on Saturday, June 23, from the Beverly Hilton Hotel," says NATAS chairman Malachy Wienges in a statement. "Working with the show's producer, Gabriel Gornell of LocoDistro, we are preparing a new, fresh, creative show that will honor all the genres that make daytime television a part of our daily lives." Adds Scot Safron, executive vice president and general manager of HLN, "Every day, we focus on the news and information people talk about, and that has included extensive coverage of the Daytime Emmys in the past. This year, we're very excited to also be carrying the event itself." This year's ceremony will feature celebratory tributes to ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE, and fan input will be worked into the show with featured segments on the air and on-line at HLNtv.com. The Daytime Emmy Awards will air at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT. Edited May 24, 201213 yr by dragonflies

May 24, 201213 yr Author Member you don't get HLN? I figured it was part of most people's basic cable package
May 24, 201213 yr Member Well, that's good at least. I can only hope they'll put on a decent, respectable show. It's not in Vegas which is already a HUGE plus. And, they're excited about showcasing tributes to AMC and OLTL. This could be good. Maybe low-key and off the radar, but enjoyable for us daytime fans. Hopefully. Does Joy Behar still have her Larry King-like talk show on HLN? I wouldn't be surprised if she hosted.... Edited May 24, 201213 yr by Gray Bunny
May 25, 201213 yr Member Does Joy Behar still have her Larry King-like talk show on HLN? I wouldn't be surprised if she hosted.... I think she gave it up already. I know she said sometime ago that she wasn't going to continue it. It'll probably be Nancy Grace LOL Lawd I hope not. Although her legal puns/Southern witticisms could make things fun . Now I just have to wonder how I'll get through the OLTL tribute. Maybe it's a good thing it didn't get an Outstanding Drama nod--I can only handle crying so much at a time! Although, hell, I didn't even watch AMC and I teared up at the end of The View tribute. Go figure. (The OLTL one, OTOH, I didn't tear up as much over--probably due to denial that MY soap was ending).
