As The View represents so much of what has destroyed daytime TV (stupidity, misogny, bigotry, screaming and yelling and repeating the same lines over and over), it's only fitting.

Seriously? WTF. With AMC and OLTL going off the air, I thought for sure it would be someone associated with one of those shows. I know Agnes already has a lifetime award, but someone else from either show would have been more appropriate.

Why would the daytime emmys HONOR anything SOAP when they are all getting cancelled and SOAPS are knwon as a thing of the past. As I said anyone who thinks GH will live past next year u have a better chance winning the freaking lottery. They will honor anything but a dead GENRE IMO.

I still remember when Hot In Cleveland did a parody of the VIew where the guests were: People who's shows got canceled so we could put our's on air!

Anyway the Daytime Emmy's havent been shipt in years now and I laugh everytime I look at the nominations

Talks shows are Dying too. There are more deserving people in Daytime to get this before Bill Gedde

A lifetime achievement award is often about the past. Not so much about a man whose show is famous because viewers want to point and laugh at the dumbasses. If that's the criteria, give the award to Jerry Springer.

11 posts and still not revealed to be an April Fool's joke... you have GOT to be kidding me. I was actually expecting Susan Lucci and I was already forming my opinions on that, but Bill Gedde?? You can't tell me these things can't be bought.

Curiously, this makes me like Barbara Walters a little less.

I'm pretty sure a Daytime Emmy can be bought...at WalMart for $19.99. They're right between the Snuggies and the Shake Weights.

If Frons wasn't gone, I'd swear he was behind this

It does have his signature "fevered meth dream" feel. LOL!

+1. I can't believe people sit through this trainwreck daily.
