Aww Daytime Fan you're actually missing some great work from Brianna Brown, who has actually made her character sympathetic.

I'll watch the whole thing without Lucci because I do like the Marisol story, but I'll miss seeing Genevieve if she's not on tonight.

Literally no reason to watch then. I forward through everything except the scenes Susan Lucci is in. She makes the show.

To me, up until the last episode, she's barely been there. I think the show is great with or without Lucci.

I could not stop laughing at Rose & Spence's scenes... I don't know how they got that baby to do all of that (maybe they put the boom mike above him/her and they were looking for that) but I was cracking up. Then when she hit him over the head. Peri is so stupid, you did not come to that revelation on your own and I have NO sympathy for her -- as much as I love Rosie -- that woman is about to become a walking hypocrite but I loathe Peri so much that I don't even care.

I was weak with Peri & Rosie and then when she covered her chest after she said that. LOL city indeed.

Valentina might become a little more interesting... the catfight by the pool was too funny.

Poor Carmen... Odessa saves the day! I just love her. Poor Sam... and poor bird.

I don't get the Powell's but I'm intrigued.

Mmmm so Flora was hooking up with the son and still trying to beget a million dollar baby... interesting.

I loved the symbolism with Carmen and the bird and less obviously with the Powells and the butterflies. Rebecca Wisocky was brilliant last night, so tightly wound. It was nice to see a human side of Adrian.

Earth to Remy: you have terrible taste in women. Valentina is a crazy stalker who thinks she's in love with you despite never actually knowing you beyond just cleaning your room, and Alison is not worth your effort. The catfight was funny but the whole Remy/Valentina thing would have been much better if they'd actually been out on a few dates and had it progress before Zoila put the brakes on a budding relationship.

Wow, 2.8 million last night, series high so far. It should get a second season pick up.

More importantly it hit a series high in the demo - 1.0. I'd say a season two is a sure thing now.

Wow. La Lucci is going to be busy. She might be too busy to come back to Pine Valley.

I'm so torn over this. I really do love Devious Maids, and it sounds like she's really enjoying being a part of it. But God I really miss Erica Kane. Is it wrong to hope that maybe she drops the Discovery ID show instead?

No, I agree. I would hope Lifetime would keep it as a Summer show which, I assume would give a bit of time for SuLu to drop in at Pine Valley for a story arc or two...........

Probably not. That's a hit for ID.

I doubt that show takes much of her time, anyway. It seems like she could film all her segments in one or two days... (Yes, I want Susan Lucci to be insanely overworked :D )

Eric, you missed Andy Cohen on WWHL saying that All My Children should load a truck full of money and deliver it to Long Island. In response, La Lucci said, "I love how you think, Andy Cohen."

The NY Post had a small portion of a column about this show

Lifetime’s “Devious Maids” was one of the summer’s most-anticipated premieres, boasting the creative pedigree of “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry and a stellar cast fronted by, among others, Judy Reyes, Ana Ortiz, Roselyn Sanchez and Susan Lucci.

ABC passed on the series, so it ended up on cable. (ABC, not coincidentally, owns 50 percent of Lifetime; A&E owns the other half.)

If you haven’t heard much about “Devious Maids” since its June 23 premiere, that’s because it’s not a breakout hit.

“Maids” has averaged 2.2 million viewers through four original episodes — not terrific, but not disastrous, either.

Lifetime officials stressed to me that last Sunday’s episode was up 10 percent in viewers over the show’s premiere, and that it also showed moderate gains in adults 18-49 and 25-54 from its June 23 bow — and that it topped all shows in basic cable in its timeslot (10 p.m.) in women viewers.

Still, I’d give it a meh, so far. I watched the first episode last month and didn’t feel the need to go rushing back — and, apparently, others share that opinion.
