Catching up on this week's SLs -- I am on Wednesday's episodes right now. I disagree about Rafe & Nicole. I like their sweet chem and think they work a lot better than Rafe/Carrie (even though watching Sami tear Carrie a new a**hole is worth the price of admission).

I hate whats been done to her character to accomdate him. She is too sugary sweet and victim like now. She's been morphed into this heroine that needs saving him he as her white knight. That doesnt work with Nicole IMO. She should be a scheming bitch, causing trouble, beign selfish and out for number 1. She cant be that character with Rafe. I cant see him putting up with that especially coming after Sami. She needs someone that challenges her, that brings out her fire, not suppress it.

Oh IA and that is precisely what I enjoy about Nicole's character. She is a vixen, albeit with a core of vulnerability. I don't think she should change to accomodate Virtuous Rafe. I should say that I have liked Rafe & Nicole from the beginning, back when he was trying to entrap her at the Cheatin' Heart. He knew exactly what he was messing with, and so did she. I would prefer it if Nicole was using this pregnancy as leverage against EJ and the DiMeras. But I still like that Rafe and her have this friendship.

Ugh! I just FFed through Abe and Lexie reconciliation scenes. Can we bring back Brandon?!

Rafe didN't make Nicole weak shes been like this for months. All she's been is EJs sex toy for how long now? Her reconciling and forgiving EJ for all the crap he pulled with her sister and causing her mothers death made her look weak and stupid. It would have been far more believable had she returned to him for the status and visibility being his wife would have given her versus that schmoopy crap. She could have found out about his blackmailing Will and used that against him or to her advantage.

That said I think Rafe and Nicole work as friends and potential romantic partners far better than Rafe and Carrie do. I'd actually prefer to see them scheming together as a matter of revenge towards Sami and EJ vs Rafe having to save her from terrible EJ again.

Isn't that exactly what she did? She wanted to be his manager so she could have a hook up with the Mayor and be in the "in circle" of power that EJ has, she just later fell in love with him again. She was initally all about business and using their marriage as a way to have an in with EJ and make him look good in their political race.

That's not in Rafe's character though which is why Nicole/Rafe don't work. Virtuous Rafe must always be right is white - at least on paper. That's what they were attempting with Carrie/Rafe and it fit because both are supposed to be "good" characters. I still don't understand how we are supposed to see him as a good person when he completely threw his baby sister under the bus so he could sleep with Sami but whatever. Nicole would have to be completely whitewashed (as she was in the first babyswitch) in order to accommodate him as a viable love interest. I personally think both Nicole and Rafe have outlived their usefulness if this is all the show could come up with. The only thing that is coming out of this is that EJ gets another kid, even though he doesn't need another one.

Rafe outlived his usefullness long ago and throwing Nicole into a pairing with him won't help. It's time they finally cut GG lose. I don't need a repeat of Rafe and Sami during the baby switch storyline with Nicole in her place.

I would love to see Caroline and Rafe be the dissaproving ones considering their Catholic upbringing. The tension between Rafe and Sami because of Will's sexuality would have been better drama than affairs.

Yep! I was thinking they were headed this way with Will & his father. ... I just find this storyline very interesting just focusing on how they are going to tell it.

I just remember Gina owned it and it was inscribed with the letter G, then everyone spent an entire damn year searching for the compact and looking at the compact and talking about the compact compact compact. It was the original "my mother's cameo."

I missed my mother's cameo cuz DAYS was too unwatchable for me at that point
