I got a sick feeling watching those EJ/Sami scenes. Don't tell me we're heading down that road again. It better be one sided and EJ becomes obsessed with Sami - I can live with that. It doesn't make sense for them to be a romantic couple again. And I hate the threat of them getting back together. This happens every now and then....and I just wonder why???

I love Kate, and I love Ian Buchanan, but their interactions really gross me out. Is it just me, but I just cannot see Ian as a romantic lead? Even in his Duke days, he came off as to effiminate to me... and in this, he is coming off as too creepy grandpa.

Many fans love the chemistry between JS and AS. That's fine. I can see why. But for the writers to craft a story about two self-loathing people who rutted like pigs because they thought they'd lost a child, and then only a few months later wave this off as "great sex," is just a bad choice IMO.

There are so many problems with EJ and Sami that I could never root for them as a unit/couple, but I completely understand why they would be attracted to eachother in a primal, animalistic, sexual way. They are practically the same person, and they love themselves more then they love anything else in the world. I completely buy their connection on that front in terms of physical magnetism. The chemistry also isn't bad so it's believable on a visual front too. JS is also hands down AS best acting partner she has ever worked beside.

ATWT 25th anni April 1981-Only Don McLaughlin (Chris) was still around. He was recurring at that stage.Other original characters still on the show were Bob (played by Don Hastings since 1960) and Ellen (played by Patricia Bruder since 1960).

AW celebrated 25 years in 1989.The original character of Russ Matthews had recently returned played by David Bailey on and off since 73.The longest running cast member was Constance Ford (Ada) since 1967.The character of Rachel also debuted in 67 and Victoria Wyndham had been in the role since 72.

I don't think we are supposed to see Ian as a romantic lead. Ian is your basic ruthless businessman, right out of soap central casting. Even in her romantic scenes Kate isn't a romantic lead. Romantic leads are a dime a dozen and DOOL is overloaded with them, why waste Kate and Ian on that when there already is 500 in rotation? Kate is far better served just driving story for everyone from Madison to Marlena and it keeps her pretty busy and makes all of them more interesting too. Without Kate there would be no Chad and Gabi for Melanie to get the wrong idea, etc etc etc. I love Kate and wouldn't change her function on the show for anything.

If not with Nicole than Sami it is. Those are the only two women I see him working with, unless they do something unexpected and put him with Abby or Billie, which I wouldnt mind seeing them test out. Actually, I think Id love to see him and Billie get involved as she tries to get the goods on Stefano and him not quite trusting her

I was just thinking the Titan/Mad World dinner really should have happened at Chez Rouge. Please dont tell me they got rid of that set

As and JS sizzle but the problem is when they try to connect them as a real couple all the things so magnetic about them is sucked out. They lost if I recall hundreds of thousands of viewers during than Santten crap and turning EJ into her lapdog. And Sami just looked pathetic. I'm kind of bummed they, turned that moment into good sex because it could have been a game changer for more than Will screaming. All these moments that are supposed to change things forever on all these shows end up going no where.

    • I totally agree with this, as most of you seem to. Mary Carney was at least competent and reasonably likable; I just feel like she barely had anything of substance to do before she was abruptly given the hook. And I get the backstory of Kathleen Tolan having done a play with Helen Gallagher, but...at any point did they ever actually READ her before they greenlit her? Because...OOF. First time I saw her on SoapNet was right when this GODAWFUL actress named Charity Rahmer played Belle on Days of Our Lives for all of three weeks before she was mercifully recast; her line readings were straight out of a Charlie Brown special. I remember thinking Kathleen Tolan could have played her mother! In the Frank/Jill/Delia triangle, Delia WAS the one who was cheated on, so I got why she was upset and thought it was perfectly valid in theory at least, but of course it was blown up to Wagnerian proportions including falls involving staircases and tricycles. But with Pat/Faith/Delia I had no sympathy for her...especially because it was mainly with Catherine Hicks's Faith and I really liked her.
    • I was going through those episodes from 1984 and early 1985 before they were taken down. Some of the older characters, like Don and even Tom, looked a little out of place, like they were on the wrong show. But the newer characters were fun. It's too bad they lost the character of Melissa. I guess Jennifer took her long-term place on the canvas.

    • The black and white episodes of the show are very special. An atmosphere the color run loses. Dark Shadows was filmed live-on-tape. They could do a retake but it would be very expensive. I think there was a claim that if actors wanted a retake they would curse. There was also a rumor that at one point Joan Bennett accidentally said "Hollywood" instead of "Collinwood" and that necessitated a retake.

    • It is a shame that more characters didn't go the ATWT-Barbara route and make the ingénue into an antagonist. Sort of like they did with Liza/Hogan/Sunny, less successfully. It is a credit to ATWT's creativity that breathed life in that character for years after she was fighting off bulls in Spain.  But, a character like Liza can only have so many true loves and high jinks on the high seas.  They need another reason to be in the story. Liza's wealth, as well as her acumen to see through fraud, was fertile ground for tons of stories.  But, I feel like the business stories for Liza were always about her being easily overwhelmed, rather than exploring things like her leadership and managerial skills.
    • STFU!! Dante!!! This nonsense of blaming Gio is just ridiculous! Alexis and Lucky are becoming so unlikable. Why are the writers writing these characters so poorly?
    • Keith still comes off younger to me. I thought he wasn't that bad for his first day.
    • To be fair, they were only recently step-siblings.  Their parents married within the past few years.  And, Draper's father Ansel was not coy about the fact that he married Raven's mother, Nadine, for the money. And, Raven's sort of sticking it to April that not only can she have a baby (April has a heart condition that makes it difficult for her to carry a child to term), she could also have April's man, if she wanted him.
