A recent interview with the wonderful Ketty Lester (ex-DAYS, among many other things).

The interviewer claims Ketty was the first woman of color on a soap, which I don't think is true (?). If not, it shows again how much misinformation tends to be fact with this genre. Still, it's a nice interview.

Plenty of women before her.

Cicely Tyson, Liliaan Hayman,Ellen Holly,Janet Du'Bois etc. She wasn't even Days first female black character.

Not to discount Ketty Lester in any way but as Carl said, another example of misinformation presented as fact.

Okay, first black woman on a soap, I aksed someone who I thought knew & he did: The first black woman on a soap played a maid to the Barron family on Search for Tomorrow. I have a 1953 episode with her in it. Unfortunately she’s not credited and I can’t find any info. I’ll try on Monday to post a snippet or screenshot. So, does that sound like it was this woman?

This is a joy:

Kristen and her ex Chad Duell from GH appear to be back on good terms; according to her Twitch page, he guested on her Dead by Daylight stream a couple months ago.

Kristen's bio says her brother Eddie may turn up, so I'll have to keep an eye on it. (I take that back - he is in one of her recent streams, and he looks fine although I'm not sure about that mustache.)

Hester Sue from Little House on the Prairie! I need to check this interview out sometime soon.

I’m happy for Sasha. I hope the rumors aren’t true that she’s being replaced due to all the crazy DC changes. Hopefully the film does well and she’s well received enough they decide to keep her for the Supergirl movie.
