Four OLTL actors heading to GH

WHile I think RC has painted Blair as too man obsessed with a weird proclivity for choosing psychos she should be smart eough at this point to not always fall for. That said, I think Ron loves the character and the actress, no matter how arguably lamely he shows it (Yes Blair always had elements of this, but she should have grown by now--and had for a while).

I do agree with John--I feel like Frons loved John, FV probably did too, but RC seemed kinda uninterested. And I don't blame him--as much as I get the argument that John J York has not had much to do at GH in ages (the little I've watched GH), I think John by this point is worse. He rarely seems to show any interest in a scene (though I did think he improved slightly the last few weeks).

I actually pretty much agree with all of this (although I'm more mixed on how he wrote RH's return). And I do think that's RC's main weakness actually--it never seems to be really about agendas or character hatred so much as I think sometimes he feels he gets a character and what their strengths are more than, frankly, I think he does.

The show spent so many years painting Natalie as some type of clingy whore. MA always did the heavy lifting for him, and Jolie did have fans, but never once did I stop having the feelings that Natalie was beneath John and they were just waiting for someone else to come along. Notice how every time John has scenes with a woman, we're supposed to be excited, and look how alive he is! And then, in about a week, or two weeks, he goes back to sleeping with his eyes open, as the women have nervous breakdowns.

It will be interesting to see him with Kelly Monaco again, as she is also a low-key actor.

Beyond her man problems, the show took away most of her relationship with Starr and Dorian for several years; with Dorian it felt very deliberate (remember that episode about how they'd be like the Grey Gardens ladies if they didn't find a good man like Todd). That's what bothered me most.

Yes, which I find all too funny considering the way twitter has been over reacting to these characters coming on board. I had a feeling GH couldn't afford, Kassie, Roger and Michael Easton long term. Looks like ME might be staying, which is unfortunate, but hardly an invasion.

Ever since it was announced that ONE LIFE TO LIVE star Michael Easton would be moving John McBain to GENERAL HOSPITAL's Port Charles, fans have been praying for Melissa Archer's Natalie to join him. Alas, it appears that when Easton told fans at a "Loving Llanview" event last weekend that Jolie would be reunited during May Sweeps, he was just being a jokester. A spokesperson for GH tells Soaps In Depth that at this time, Archer will not be joining the cast. "Despite us loving them, there are no immediate plans to bring her to Port Charles," says the rep.

none of this makes any sense? john and natalie just reunited and he's already leaving her? starr without cole? todd and blair in port charles right after he gets busted? seems to me they should have had the finale turn out to be alison's fantasy after all!!

    • I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.
    • Thanks for these. I can't recall -- did Evan's vendetta have any position on Mitch, or was it all about Rachel? @Maxim have you seen any Frames intreracting with Mitch in any way?
    • Thank you for the tag! It's always a pleasure to see these little pearls of memories.
    • Uh-oh. Today just might’ve been the first Paula/Jeanne stinker. I have a feeling whose fault that might be though. So, Doug III is getting a job at the Pub?  It’s good to see him interact with other characters. I enjoyed his scenes with Roman, even though the talk of Frankie and Max seemed a little random. And it also could be really interesting now that Tate knows. Days really need to start pushing their rivalry again. We need some follow up from the punch. Tying it all to Holly, to Sophia’s pregnancy, to the guys that Doug III owes money to could be good.  But yeah, wayyy too much Leo again in today’s episode. Seriously, has anything changed with this nothing character? I thought it was all Ron’s fault, but maybe Greg Rikaart is (partially) responsible for Leo being so insufferable.  And yeah seriously, Rafe needs to throw all of these people out of his house. Including Gabi

But I do wonder who’s the mysterious voice that Gabi overheard with EJ on the night he was shot. Based on yesterday’s episode, I have a suspicion.
    • Add me to the group of people who think that Brandon has improved. He has. There's no doubt about it. Especially compared to the beginning. And he's improving in a way that... it makes me think that he realizes what the issues are and is addressing them. Of course, he's no master of acting at this point... but I don't cringe as much as I did. And I've seen people in Bold... I won't even have to name names, because everyone knows who they are... who are becoming even worse than what they were offering in the first place. So... I'm happy that in BTG... people are actually blossoming and improving. It surely means that the atmosphere is creative and nurturing talent.  BUT and it's a big butt... his relationship with his husband is still so lacking and ghastly. I am craving to see more action from these guys. I want to see Smitty's character. If he has any.
    • Thank you. You guys come to the rescue again. I'll take a look later.   Thank you for the info!!! Now I find myself less confused. You and @DRW50 are amazing.
    • I know Passions used this trope with Ethan and Sam to drag out the paternity, but GH seems to speed through certain stories while dragging others.
    • For any other soap, I think I’d agree, but GH, I don’t know

    • Agreed, that there was some strange choices in the episode, especially at the end, but overall, that was some great drama that opens up the potential for so much future storyline. Kat vs. Eva having the most potential, especially over Tomas. I have mixed feelings about Martin/BC though. I thought he did pretty well in scenes with Smitty/MM, but the scenes of him confronting Leslie and of him throwing the books were bad lol she acted circles around him.  It’s similar to what Harding Lemay said about George Reinholt at AW; he could be brilliant in one scene, but then mediocre in the next.
