This is from another board but I thought it was worth posting.

In this weeks entermainment weekly, there is an article about talk shows taking over daytime. The head of CBS Les Moonves says that his network went from losing $25 million to making about $100 million in daytime by getting rid of two soaps and adding talk and game shows.

Then it says that ABC is following CBS' lead and this quote from Brian Frons "People are really interested in multiple points of view, multiple voices. Daytime viewers are also saying that if they are going to give us an hour a day, we need to give them something that is going to improve their lives." Later on he says, "You can't spend more money for less audience. That's why you see people going toward programming forms that cost less to produce."

Yet they never, ever mention either of these shows anymore, after hyping The Talk for months. I guess there's nothing to mention when your show is only known for firing people.

I love how Frons is claiming that these are different voices when ABC is so lazy they even give them the same titles.

It's filler, and I don't know why they pretend otherwise. They see viewers as stupid and fat and easily distracted, so this is the monkey flinging crap. Fine. But please stop pretending it's anything else.
