AMC and OLTL Canceled! Part 2!

Why? What does that solve? How does that change anything. The cost was still tons more than they expected. No. They should have done what any smart company would have done. Researched the shows and found out what was involved before making a deal. The shows are not as we have heard by MANY MANY MANY people modeled or viable as they are now. These were not thriving shows that were on the cusp of some new trend. They were old dated shows that needed someone with vision and interest in sustaining them in the 21st century to revive them.

Maybe Would have given them more time to get everything ironed out

Did I miss something? This is the same conversation. Why did it need a brand new thread?

Because, why try and outdo Anthony Adverse in page length when we've already beaten Gone With the Wind?

No offense, John, but I think you need to quit while you're (not) ahead.

I agree I want them to make some things available from the sets of AMC and OLTL. Marceline that outfit would be awesome for a sci-fi con.

The only thing I ever wanted from AMC was the old Tyler mansion staircase. But I doubt whether that's still available.

I'm not going to lie and say this thread hasn't been quite enjoyable to me. It gives me a migraine, trying to read sentences where every word is capitalized. But it's enjoyable nonetheless.

though R is right. this is the same conversation in a new thread.

Frankly, what did we expect? ABC cancelled AMC and OLTL. PP bought the rights to them, but for whatever reason, they're not reviving the two shows. So AMC and OLTL are finished. What more needs to be said? What more can be said that hasn't been said already? Errol would be better off just closing this thread like he did the last one and moving on.

Absolutely agree. This thread should be closed.

Eh, I think more actors will share like Cady has and if people want to pontificate, let 'em pontificate. The thread will die a natural death and spring back to life whenever some industry person drops a nugget. I say just ignore it and let it stay open instead of a bunch of other mini threads remotely related get started.

I'd leave it open until after OLTL goes off the air then close it. Personally I like being able to come to this thread to get the info on life after the ABC soaps along with the various articles, tweets and FB posts like Cady's. Otherwise we'll end up getting new threads for each one of those. Besides, it not like SON (or any soap site) has too much traffic.

ETA: Ha! SFK, great minds...

Point taken. (Yours, too, SFK.) :)

Yes I appreciate having one thread with everything that comes out as the actors stop being polite and begin to tell their truth. If people are just chatting for no reason about the same three articles then it should be locked until something new comes out and a moderator re-opens it. Then again that may be a bit of work.

I agree. Why close it? Yes, most of the discussion is redundent but obviously people want to vent, and this *is* a discussion forum. If that bothers people, than don't click on it... As SFK said, if it's locked, most of this discussion will probably just migrate to other threads anyway.

Plus if it gets locked now the OLTL fans will play the "red-headed stepchild" card...again. "Waaahhh, the AMC fans monopolized that thread for months! Why couldn't we talk about our show in the same thread? Agnes abandoned the show!"
