He has been really weak the last two days. Steve Burton has severe limits as an actor and we see them in that room. I personally find the only place he excels is playing the straight man in comedy bits. Everything else and he is lacking. That said it isn't entirely his fault this story is terrible. Their three-cent budget has created a story where Jason just sits in room, "Franco" gets played by a stuntman for weeks, and we have to create our own cliffhanger because GH couldn't actually come up with any kind of credible threat Franco could cause that would cost no money to shoot. Francophrenia was Oscar worthy compared to this, and his first montage with Sam and Lulu strapped to bombs is positively high art in comparison. And then there is his theme song. So they couldn't afford the real song so they settled for some muzak instrumental version?

I agree. GH's budget problems are starting to show. They were immune for a long time, but now you can see their budget has been well and truly gutted. It's a shame, especially since PP coming to the rescue is looking less likely.

THe cracks in this show have always been there but are now more noticable now because they no longer have the big showy events to cover up the overall flaws in the show. GH has been flawed for years but they always excelled at sweeps and putting together an engaging watchable show 3 months a year. And you can't focus on more character driven stories when most of the characters on the show are pretty vapid now and the acting with a few exceptions substandard. And even the better acting with Geary and Jackson has become exhausting to watch.

I agree. Production values don't make a bad show good, but when the stories are mediocre and things look cheap, it's a double whammy.

Right now, I haven't watched since 10/17. I don't even know why other than complete lack of interest. Still GH has some weird sort of hold over me. I can't delete it from my DVR. I'm slowly catching up on the episodes, but it's like doing a chore I feel compelled to do. I dropped both ATWT and GL in the last year or so of their runs, but right now, I just can't quite drop GH.

I mean immune from budget cuts because they were favored. I'm not saying it's right. I'm just saying the fact that it is no longer happening is showing.

^^ Agreed. But perhaps in the end it will be the best thing that could happen to the show. The hogs have to be restricted, and the focus has to be on the story and characters because stunts and extras won't be affordable.

GH wasn't run off a rail overnight, so I think we should expect it to take longer to get that desired and seemingly mythic "Balance" in place. In the particular instance we are acknowledging, SB is NOT a strong actor - he's eye candy. He's about the only front-and-centre actor who hasn't had his own story that I can remember, and that's because he can't carry a story. His ultimate pairing does seem to be Spinelli. Without the music and Sam's comments, you'd hardly knew he mourned Jake.

Sonny's got a headache and Kate's an iced cold slut. It only took a few minutes to right that wrong today.

GH is soo good right now. I do not get the hate. Todays ending was like a Friday show, so many cliffhangers! WTH were Shawn and Carly looking at? Why did Johnny follow Kate? Is Olivia pregnant? Lulu. In the dark. Drinking alcohol from a coffee cup Jason telling Sam it was Franco in the bed with her

Carly to Shawn: "You can't handle what's going on between us because I'm white" Damn! Wouldn't it have been something if that was really the reason ;O

Sonny has a nice, tender moment with Kate at the bar & then goes to her cousins house? Seriously? Go home! Olivia should've had that time to herself so she could read her results! I loved (and hated) Steve's reaction to finding the test under Olivia's couch pillow. He seemed scared out of his mind!

Actually I'm pretty sure it's the same Adam Lambert song, just the instrumental version of it. In this case, I like that they used that instead of the one with words. It was a pretty deep moment and I think the words would've made it a bit distracting.

I saw no problem with SBu's acting, TBH. At first I did but I thought he did a great job overall with it.

I've never been a Liz fan, but it's just awful how many characters talk trash about her. I watched 6 episodes today in an effort to catch up and it's so noticeable.
