Babs Walters is a phony who talks out of both sides of her mouth, and usually what comes out of her mouth is worth as much as what comes out of tight ass! She never has cared about the good of ABC Daytime, and has only had interests in securing a bigger slice of the pie for herself. She has pitched and proposed several talk show options to the network for the past several YEARS that if picked up would clearly have meant the death of one of the soaps...if it had not been for those soaps, THE VIEW could never have been sustained for the time it took for it to become successful. Bill Geddie, EP of THE VIEW and her buddy, gave an interview this past week in which he gleefully declared that THE VIEW was aiming to take the top daytime ratings spot, how it was going to be easier now "that the soap operas are going away" and now that Oprah was gone, even going as far as to say THE VIEW "does the same things that Oprah did, so we're in a perfect spot to (become number one)." So screw Babs "Washington DC Old School Homewrecker" and whatever she has to say.

The new episode of 'Hot in Cleveland' is the perfect stepping stone for Susan, it extends her 'Erica Kane' persona while also taking her past AMC, it proves she is still viable, in some way, beyond All My Children.

Of course, we already knew that. But the casual viewer of television perhaps wouldn't think that way.

Susan Lucci is not a "has-been soap opera diva"...she is a savvy woman who has grinned and bore it for 41 years. She has helped generate hundreds of millions of dollars for ABC and in the process established herself as a brand, a brand she has never tarnished.

Susan's worth in the conservative ballpark of $30,000,000...she couldn't give less of a sh*t about ABC, I'm certain she knows that "network" television doesn't even matter anymore. She'll continue her HSN work, pick up the odd television gig, work on charities of her choice and just keep doing what she does best: being herself.

THAT is what ABC/Frons/Sweeney underestimated and failed to understand. Susan Lucci isn't loved because she played Erica Kane, Susan Lucci is loved because she's Susan Lucci. She has transcended the genre and her limitations as a performer.

She is the epitome of class and professionalism, this attack on Frons and ABC was pitch perfect because it came out of left field. Notice that it broke after AMC's final episode was in the can. She is brilliant. Viva La Lucci!

So. Much. This.

Also, that lame response from ABC about this being the "epilogue to her career" only showed that her comments caused some pain. The only response they should've given was "We here at ABC have the utmost respect for Susan and we with her success in her future endeavors." By trying to slam her back all they did was show that the bullet hit its mark.

Ugh! That whole article is a mess... Starting with the "Susan Lucci as Erica Kane, then and now" with the photo of her in the present listed as then, and the 1970 headshot listed as now. dry.png

All of those typos... "Eric Kane," "Stewart Chandler," "They were the was most exciting to me" unsure.png

Then the misinformation... They write Erica had television's first legal abortion, but then go on to say she gave birth to three children?! She never gave birth to Josh.
