DAYS will be back to a 1.8 HH next week. With the show being pre-empted the week before, maybe fans didn't bother tuning in until the middle of the week. That's my guess.

I am hoping with the curiosity of the Sonny storyline, the returns, and wrapping up some of the less memorable storylines (Rafe II, Taylor/EJ), the show will be steady again in viewers and households in the next couple of months.

At this point, GH has nothing to lose in doing a total revamp.

They could gut the show and rebuild a la Linda Gottlieb's OLTL, or they could go even further and mimic the change from LOVING to THE CITY (although retaining the GH title). Seriously....they have NOTHING to lose. Dump Sonny. Dump Jason. Dump Carly. Save money on those salaries, and rebuild into something that MIGHT survive beyond next September.

Because right now, NO WAY is this show going to survive. It probably wouldn't even survive with a revamp, but at least the profit margin would be better in the meantime with those salary cuts.

Flat out OLTL is kicking GH's ass right now. It is a healthy show. The poster who said otherwise, what ratings are you looking at?

I see DAYS has a lot of new fans here and that 's fine. I just want to caution you all, newbies, esp the ones who are ONLY watching for Sonny and Will NEVER count Days out. Days ALWAYS has a come back. I forsee this time being no different.

Too bad Days didnt get higher numbers, it was awesome last week and continues to be the same way this week.

What in the hell is happening at GH? When does Garin's material begin to air?

I admit it, I'm glad to see GH's ratings (kinda) reflect it's quality.

As was pointed out, AMC's "comeback" is more just a return to around where it's been, but it still makes me happy. Maybe with the great pace and better material this week it will continue to do better (though I see no chance for it in those demos...)

Wolf's outlines/arcs begin around July 25th (supposedly) he has tweaked as much as he could (according to the rumor mill) (supposedly) the show is showin a different tone ... mood...

I think Monica is all Garin he is a huge Q fan...the Tracey/Monica scenes I could've watched for the whole eppy as far as I'm concerned...I almost cried when I saw Monica actually have meaningful dialog about "her." Why Guza disrespected this actress I'll never understand...just seeing them stand up together (not in wacky hijinks).

...but the storytelling is still horrid its still misogynistic its a new day this is one reason IMO why soaps fail this audience has "proven" they're not tolerating malecentric storytelling and for a show watched mainly "by women" they can't survive in this era with these wimpy women in terrible wardrobe. I don't know if Wolf has a Guza-jones for Sonny/Carly/Jason but if he does it will be the same cah-cah in a new package. And for me that is the major problem with GH the holy trinity has just got to go. They can't keep characters in story kissing their asses.

Michael, I agree with you (at least when it comes to most of the storylines). I honestly cannot understand the appeal of the tale of two Todds, the Baz storyline, the Austin Peck porno storyline, or any scene involving the younger cast.

Yikes, not only does OLTL continuing to trump GH- it's even gaining on B&B. If B&B were to drop a bit and OLTL saw another big gain - it could tie or beat B&B in total viewers.

Considering that in most markets, OLTL is sandwiched between AMC and GH - it's quite impressive that they would gain viewers from AMC and then LOSE over 400,000 viewers as it switches to GH.

One of the strong points of OLTL is its large cast, because they don't/can't just focus on one story. It's rare that there is a story featured 4 or 5 days a week- in fact, there are some days that feature an ENTIRE set of different characters that weren't shown the previous day. GH is the same day in and day out...

B&B's numbers the last few weeks have been getting overlooked, their doing really good right now compared to where they were at not that long ago. Theyh seem to have a lot of days over the the 3 million viewer mark now with a Y&R that's been declining hard lately.

As for DAYS, it was pretty hard to keep up with it during those two weeks but it looks like it got back on track towards after Tuesday. For me personally the soap is the best to me right now even though OLTL is just as good as obviously. I think DAYS should be able to grow through its huge September 26th date of returns b/c DAYS is actually having one of its best quality summers in like five years. Usually DAYS is terrible during the summer but its not this year.

OLTL is just kicking ass right now and taking names, its amazing that its ABC's top soap week for 12 weeks straight.

AMC has finally grown its ratings and maybe they'll get some viewers to stick with them now that the soap is online. I wonder if AMC is doing enough if by the time OLTL debuts in January online if a television deal will be in the works by that time. Who knows?

GH is just an utter mess right now but at least Ron C. is coming to save it next year like he did with OLTL. GH needs to rebuild and start from scratch b/c its just dying right now but the good news is it might stay on air longer than people think if Ron C. can turn things around. Plus there's its partnership with Prospect Park which could move the soap online.
