Thanks angel for the fresh uploads. I noticed immediately that all but four of the episodes are in true stereo sound. And what is that godawful CGI at the end of episode 2667? Dear god

1997 is the year of really fast credits. I was having to rewind every so often because they would change so quick. Holy moly.

That's a good list. I've been thinking of making one myself. Just not entirely sure how to present it and whether or not to put episodes into different categories (such as marriages, births, deaths, milestones et cetera).

I would also like to create a specific list of select quotes from a character and episode. There are plenty of good ones that people love to refer back to but can't hunt down the specific episode. The official channel attempts to do it with video shorts, but they don't always pick the best scene.

I am so so grateful to the uploader for continuing on. I've already mentioned in this thread that when B&B aired in the UK, they did a time jump from 1997 to 1999. The Friday episode was Sheila turning up on Maggie's doorstep to "get my baby back" and the Monday we jumped forward to Rick and Amber's first wedding. As Sheila was my favourite character and I had some knowledge of her exit storyline, that was incredibly frustrating.

So I've never seen 1998 at all and it's never been very well represented online coincidentally - getting to see this for the first time is an absolute thrill.

That said... something is clearly going on behind the scenes with Bradley because post Lake Como the show goes absolutely batshit ridiculous. Killer twins and plane crashes in Greenland, the completely bizarre Psycho house kidnapping, Maggie being trashed - also interesting that for once there almost seem to be too many character groups and stories going on. Obviously later in 1998, things reset quite significantly with Sheila and Grant gone and Amber taking  the greatest prominence. It's interesting to see it play out.

Ugh I hated the period after Lake Como - the bizarre Killer twin story that was borderline cheap erotic novel for the lunch hours, sold at 0.99 cents at the grocery store... one of the top worst storylines ever in my opinion. With some of the cringest acting I've seen in my life. But after that ends, the show improves and we have some really iconic moments like Sheila vs Stephanie final showdown.

Early 1998 Kimberlin Brown and Hunter Tylo were both on pregnancy leave, so that affected the storylines.

I think Sheila suicide attempt was the exit story for KB and Taylor and baby Thomas visiting Jack was the exit story for HT.

VL misnumbers the seasons. They are currently showing what is the true Season 11. I agree, I suspect VL will stop with season 12 because why pay for something that is already on youtube? The sad thing is we may never have all episodes in English as a result. Every skipped episode on youtube of an episode that's only available in non-English is an episode we may never recover in English. These are the episodes from Season 13 that we don't have in English as a result - 3152, 3159, 3165, 3170 and 3255.

I'm quite sure they will continue - I remember a person on twitter months ago that said they had been in contact with VideoLand and that they planned to show all the episodes... don't forget guys that VL is streaming what is shown on RTL Lounge and couple of other RTL channels and that a looot of people from the Netherlands don't know English and watch with subtitles. Believe me, I live in Germany and they are plenty of people who are not able to watch with just English audio. And the automatic captions on youtube do not cut it.

So, I am quite calm that they will air it and it will be streamed, it just... will take more time. But... for the episodeS we don't have - I can always take the pristine German video and add the english audio and put them in the vault.

Respectfully, I disagree with several points. First, Dutch folk are very fluent in English. Bold airs there with the original English soundtrack and has done so since day one, it is not dubbed. Second, Videoland premieres current episodes and classic episodes before they air on RTL linear. Third, like every other broadcaster, RTL is a business. Knowing the product you’ve been paying for is available for free elsewhere (and in HD); why would said business continue to pay tens of thousands of dollars - this does not make commercial financial sense, especially for an aged product that has a narrow demographic. I have said this before and I guarantee you, classic episodes will cease on RTL at some point given the YouTube release. Casey Kasprzyk advised (last year), episodes will be released to YouTube in full HD (those seasons in SD, will be re-released in HD).

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
