I figured it wasn't the actual airdates as I think B&B celebrated 1,000 episodes early 1991......it's a shame that Lorie B's website has finally shut down, because that's where they had the German B&B episode guide which did help  even if they were a little off as well, and some summaries were missing......I've only watched a few scattered episodes so far, but I'll compile a list of all the airdates at some point

 I think the last episode uploaded aired February 3, 1992......(though it looks like a lone 1996 episode is on there as well) It helps to remember which other episodes from certain years were on YT at one point too....like in 1990 when Stephanie finds out about Brooke and Eric, ("OH THAT BITCH CAME INTO THIS HOUSE!!" etc...)  the original episode aired May 16, 1990, so just keep going forward or backwards from that start date....of course preemptions have to be considered as well, and I don't think Y&R/B&B always shared the same preemption dates or at least when it came to breaking news coverage....

Gosh, back then I thought those years were godawful. In retrospect, the show was decent compared to what it is now!

 

Why was the original Felicia recast? She looked fine. They have cemented LK in the role, even though it is extremely recurring.

 I think acting was better back then (although Jack Wagner was as annoying as I remembered), but the writing was still poor. The stories seemed aimless - wasn't this the Thomas/Amber story that was truncated because of Janet Jackson's nipple? (and wasn't he also magically aged to 18 after that controversy) I think they were also going to do some story with Eric and Caitlin that was killed. 

 

I can't remember but I think Colleen Dion didn't want to stay around long-term because she had a family and maybe she didn't live on the West Coast? As it turns out given how rarely we see Felicia they may as well have kept her. 

 

I'd forgotten Sean Kanan still looked that good in 2004. He'd barely aged from his GH days.

      Leslie having the nerve to show up at the Dupree House was pure insanity. Bill being revealed to be more ruthless than anyone would have thought was a good development. I have to imagine that will change Dani's view of wanting him back. The whole reveal was well done and Trisha Mann-Grant owned those scenes. That was most definitely material for an Emmy submission reel.

      I agree, all the Guys Tux were nice. I like how they differ from each other and all stylish in a way. Awe, same. Can not believe I actually have enjoying a current daytime soap. Rewatching these episodes over the weekend as a jump back into Ryan's Hope and Santa Barbara. Agreed! Exciting times.

      yes I thought of the Renee party... But this is different because I'm talking specifically about the revealer convincing someone else to throw the party.  And the someone else complies, having no idea what the revealer plans. I'm wondering if Michele Val Jean did a first with BTG in 2025. But the BTG thread is already so busy -- that I thought it important to *NOT* clog it up with discussing this, so I brought the question here instead. That way, if other reveals come up in conversation, it's not a problem on this "general retro soap" thread.

      She is diabolical! Remember in this scene she offered Martin a brownie which seemed so random? In this episode its revealed that when he was a kid, Ted used to bring him to a restaurant where the waitress would give him brownies....that waitress was Leslie. She was playing games and trying to jog his childhood memory

      Well, in a way DAYS "Renee Dumonde DiMera Threw a Party & Invited Everyone & Then Told the Whole Town Off" if you see what I mean. She definitely pretended that she was throwing this shindig for a pleasant reason while she KNEW her real intent wasn't pleasant AT ALL. And, everyone in Salem was targeted by her in this way.  I mean it was supposedly a celebration of her engagement. But, that is not what happened! I think it checks off all your boxes. And, before today I would definitely have called it "singular". There was nothing like it. Now, there's something not only similar but possibly .... more far-reaching? I was just struck by a thought. When MVJ was tasked to write a catfight, she wrote the best catfight that has ever existed. I'm not sure but what if she's done it again?!!
