I'll say this much: as insane as that material must have been to play, on the other hand, at least they committed to playing it 110%, lol.

WAIT a minute... I had no idea Jill Larson, my lovable Opal on AMC, was on OLTL... let alone named Ursula! How funny. That clip is so camp - there's no way that older man could wheel that chair so fast and furious that two grown women are thrown out a glass window haha. So what happens next - is that what kills Ursula and gets Jill over to AMC??

Ursula’s last scenes are the campiest sequences I have ever seen on any soap opera, but I love them so much

Ursula returns repeatedly. I think she only stops appearing because Jill was hired on AMC. Her last may be a Rogue's Gallery jailbreak, but I can't remember.

Here she is in one of her return scenes. Christine Cromwell, Viki's fake daughter, was told that homeless people exist even in Paul Rauch's Llanview, and decides to go to the local homeless encampment to take photos. I find it very patronizing, to be honest, and I guess Ursula did too, as she goes on about her "first amendment rights" and gives Christine a beatdown! Ursula was before her time. Today she'd be in Congress.

The woman who played headcase Marsha Talbot on ATWT a few years earlier has a turn as one of the "good" homeless people, whose only request is to fix her hair before Christine exploits...er...photographs her.

Ladies and gentlemen... I present you... the new and "improved" Luna Moody. Yes, that same girl with the female empowerment vibe... the inner goddess motto... that could beat bad men up if she wanted to... that same brave crazy girl who wanted Tina to emancipate herself from Cord... is now... THIS. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it... No, no, no... All I'm saying is... that the only thing missing is a foot massage at the of the scene. The amount of men that were probably salivating and saying "I want a woman just like this... while I fantasize about that other one who is great in bed" while watching... gives me a little bit of reflux.

BTW... this wouldn't have been so bad if we didn't see for months and months how she was not even his second choice... she was friend zoned and ignored... till Max was trying out with Blair time and time again. And now... she seems very grateful to be a second choice. Disturbingly grateful.

Thanks @Maxim . That's an odd scene in that it feels more like a fantasy for Max than real life. We do get various sides of Luna, including stronger sides, in the years to come, but I think she and Max always seemed like a reach (and I think in the long run they would have become tired of each other).

Yes... indeed it felt like a fantasy... but it was not. The scene became even more cringe after that... when during an intimate moment with Luna... Max got a call from Andrew saying that he needs to go and check on Bo... Sooo after everything Luna did for him... Max... just said - OKAY... you wait for me... I'll go see Bo and be back. These small little moments are very telling. She is there whenever he wants her and she will wait like a puppy if needed. I almost want the old Luna to come back and tell the new one... the same stuff she used to tell Tina.

P.S. I'm happy to hear that the stronger side has survived. I saw that in the next episodes she is back at her radio show, which is a lot better than what we've seen for months. Anything that is not her being used to prop Max or Suede... I prefer.

"Santa Bo."

🔷

The Holidays are coming... but the mood in Llanview is dreary. AS USUAL. 😆

🔷

Like something straight out of a horror movie.... or "The Joker", Bo Buchanan's mania has officially entered his Britney Spears 2007 era. The only thing left for him to do is shave his head and beat someone up with an umbrella. I'm so grateful to the writers for doing this without rushing. They could have just buried the irrelevant character Sarah and then made Bo fall in love with Nora in 5 episodes. If this was The Bold And The Beautiful it would have taken even less. Instead, they are showing us all the stages of grief and Bo's scary unraveling. The acting is once again... better than 99.9 percent of what I see on primetime. I can't believe Robert S. Woods didn't get an Emmy for this. I really can't. In a few words - Bo became a crazed Santa, bringing a bag of gifts to "The Banner" and then pretty much assaulting one of the women working there. I think it's time for a call to hot Dr. Jonas and then maybe a long stay at the psychiatric hospital.

🔷

It's been hinted at for months now... Hank's negative reaction to his daughter Rachel going out with Kevin. Well it's finally crystalized into the plain and simple - Hank doesn't want them together, because he thinks that Rachel being with a white man will complicate her life. Nora was the one who dared to finally speak about this directly, even though we had Sheila mentioning it too in the previous episodes. But Nora did it without any sweetening or making it easy for him. Sheila was a lot more gentle in her approach. It's yet another controversial subject the show is talking about. Definitely the scene of the day. As you all know, I adore Rachel and if Hank does anything to ruin her relationship with Kevin... I'll be pissed. But that makes great drama!

🔷

Everyone is finally combining forces against Blair. Tina, Cain, Alex... are now joined by Renee and... even Viki. They just can't decide who is going to be the one to break it to him - tell him that Blair lied about the entire pregnancy thing. Renee had this amazing idea - maybe Blair wanted to fake a pregnancy/miscarriage, so that she can then tell Asa that she couldn't get pregnant anymore, in order for him to stop harassing her for sex anymore. It finally made sense to me.

🔷

Viki said Goodbye to Sloan, but the moment her husband went out of town for business (I love how husbands get out of town the moment the wife starts having doubts about them), they met again at the hospital. Viki tried to be cold, but the second Sloan mentioned he is seeing a doctor, her whole expression changed. There were no words, no dialogue. Erika Slezak... in just one expression told us that she still loves him and is worried about his health. I love moments that don't need dialogue. Later Sloan eavesdropped, hearing where Viki will be tomorrow... shopping for Christmas presents. Oh... my... why do I think I know where this is heading?

Overall -  10/10 - the show is taking it slow the past few episodes. But I needed a few calmer episodes after so much drama.

Clip of the day

Hank vs Nora!

Thanks @Maxim . An issue probably bigger now than it has been in a while due to all the 'racial purity' types who are so high in government and culture (and then there are many like Hank who may not be from that world but still have their own reasons). Hank and Nora are always a good watch as they can call each other out like no one else...and the show doesn't ever try to hint about putting them back together so you can appreciate them without any ambiguity. Then you have Rachel, who at this time was such a compelling and unique and intelligent character.

Thanks @DRW50 This promo looks incredible. The last shot with the kiss is stunning. Is this from the Henry Slesar days?

Others will know better than me but yes this would probably be Sam Hall/Henry Slesar.
