It is being reported that Anne Meara (Peggy the housekeeper on All My Children) has passed away.

Yes sadly true and it has its own thread

AMC 1994:

Adam receives threatening note at the end of an episode. In the next episode, Gloria not only finds out and eliminates Alec as a suspect, but Adam confronts Alec, Hayley 'defends' Alec, Gloria hires Charlie to investigate it, they all get back together to discuss it, Charlie becomes suspicious and the stalker/whatever finishes putting together the second note. My God. I don't know if I'm just too used to Y&R's pace (all this is at least three months' material ) but it seems awfully fast and awfully a lot of things happening in a story that started not even two full episodes ago. Still, interesting.

I don't know what McTavish's hard-on for Del is, but I'm sticking with it until the other shoe drops.

AMC and Megan McTavish tried twice to make Del happen -- the first time, with Winsor Harmon; the second, with Alec "So You Want to Be a Soap Star?" Musser. Probably because they realized too late what killing off Will Cortlandt meant for Dixie in the long run. Still, I think the character itself was such a waste of airtime and attention.

I'm not following. Why was killing off Will bad for Dixie? I was just born when he was killed LOL. Also, would have Melanie worked in the long run in your opinion?

Will was written into a corner, too bad. Melanie was dull. Paige Turco has sure thrived since the days of Melanie/David...

So, why was Will good for Dixie though? Did they have other planes for him other than turning him evil?

Will was good for Dixie because having him around gave her something to do other than anguish over Tad. Simple as that.

I was stunned when Cheap told me a few weeks back that one of the "Soap Star" parts was Del -- I just couldn't believe he survived well into the 2000s! Considering it's only been a couple of months since he was introduced, I was willing to wait, but I doubt this will change. He's not really all that interesting.

Turco was equally dull as Dinah on Guiding Light.
