OLTL at least has a little over half a year to wrap their current stories up and gear for the end. AMC has FOUR MONTHS.

What we all must do right now is remember that soaps will return. As I have said many times, soap opera is now in every sellable product we view, scripted or unscripted. They may return to us three days a week, at day or night, on TV or streaming online, but they will be back, and hopefully people will be ready to make them work. Look at the European soap operas, look at film or prose, look at whatever you have to, but they will be back.

Meanwhile, I don't know what to say about the news. By now, I should be numb to this sort of thing...and yet, I'm not. It's almost as if God is telling me, "Your childhood is finished, Khan, time to move on!". And I guess that's what I'll have to do, won't I? Move on. At least, until something new and better comes along.

But like they always say on just such occasions, at least they can't [!@#$%^&*] with these shows anymore! We might not have 'em for much longer, but at least we've got that!

They didn't want the soaps to succeed. All that about listening to what viewers are telling them - they didn't listen to viewers with their soaps. And I doubt anyone told them they wanted to call something "The Chew."

They could have tried a long time ago

a. Replace AMC and OLTL with brand new soaps.

b. cut shows, have half hour soaps, like BB

c. Try the telenovela genre (6 months to 1 year long soaps)

Hinsey is an idiot, and not every cable network carries the network and from what I read, OWN started out great, but lost viewers.
