I want Erica's conclusion to be about her, not a relationship.

Same here. Then, when she gets her 13-episodes-per-season spinoff series about running an upscale Manhattan spa, she'll have a Mona-like father figure in her trusted major domo and personal driver.

I would LOVE that show! *calls Oprah*

I'm not ducking and covering and I totally agree with you. I want Erica's conclusion to be about her, not a relationship.

I think it'll be both. Contenment with her life and remarriage to Jack. They need to give the Jerica fans the gift of closure, which is understandable.

I've never seen Hollyoaks but for some reason I always pronounce it "holy oaks". (as he breaks his middle finger pressing the h button with all his might)

OMG!! ME TOO!! Always, always, ALWAYS!

I just think that Erica Kane is so much more than a man, and to sum up her conclusion to be nothing more than a man...eh, it seems like such a waste to me.

Agreed, but they also need to promote something tangible, and "Will Erica & Jack reunite?" makes for better copy than "Will Erica find true happiness within herself?"

OTOH, as LoyaltoAMC said, Jerica fans need and deserve closure. So, yeah, let them get re-married - if not in the final episode, then sooner.

Then, between the end of AMC, and the first episode of "Raising Kane," Jack suffers a sudden and fatal heart attack; and Erica, for the first time, has to deal with life as a widow. (Mike Roy doesn't count.)

As much as I see Kylie's point, I think her finally marrying Jack would fit well into the narrative that Erica is finally at ease with herself and comfortable in her own skin. That's why she has had so many men and never really truly been able to settle down. Sure, I am no Jerica fan... but what option are we left with here. As long as it isn't just about Jack and Erica marrying, Erica has to do some soul searching prior... the reasons must be clearly established WHY she is finally ready to settle down.

Raising Kane, Oprah should definitely pounce on that shiz!

Not until she gets back to Tara.

Oh, wait....

AS for soaps making money, wasn't the original intent of soaps to make a healthy profit to provide cash influx to primetime to help develop

and build those shows. That's likely what the networks are looking for now. Maybe these new cheaper shows can't generate as much of an audience

as the soaps do but they can likely generate a healthier profit. I just remember shows like Cheers in its early years at the ratings basement. Had it

not been for daytime, that show may not ever have been given the chance to build an audience and become as successful as it did.

I think any profit these shows generate will be flat, and as the costs of a network go up, the profits won't increase. These shows aren't being made to make money, they're being made on the cheap, and if that is the only reason for their creation, then everything about them is probably going to stagnate. If it's only about saving money, and never about making money, then ABC will always demand cheapness above any possible viewer interest. Ultimately I think they will just give up on daytime programming altogether, and again trot out the excuses blaming everyone but themselves.

There's also the usual ABC mismanagement. If The Revolution is in such chaos that they had to extend OLTL's exit by several months, then isn't the show already costing them money? And those problems probably aren't going to go away either.

Forget Oprah. "Raising Kane" belongs on Lifetime, dammit!

LOL, that's a good point. And I mean, I've come to terms with her ending up with Jack if that's what the show wants. I just don't want that to be her only end. That's not Erica. No man has ever defined her or her life, and I don't want the end to be merely a man. That doesn't mean that she has to be alone or not with Jack...I just want her to find her own inner peace.

As long as it isn't just about Jack and Erica marrying, Erica has to do some soul searching prior... the reasons must be clearly established WHY she is finally ready to settle down.

Yes this. That's my man vein of contention. That's it. If I can get this, where Erica knows that Jack is part of her inner peace...then I can live with it. But I don't just want them to just "end up" together.

I'ma duck and cover, but I hope AN ends the show with Erica single. Not necessarily alone, or looking for a man...just content with her live and the people around her. I don't want her final end to be a man, I want it to be about her. Her. Her daughters. Her grandchildren. The life she's built.

I'm happy AN is going to give Erica her conclusion; at least I know it'll be something in character.

I agree! I want to see Erica Kane living big off of the life she, herself, has built!

Exactly. I think we can trust Agnes to do right by this. She is a pro at being able to explore emotional truth within a story while still moving that story from A to B.
