the network today announced it will cancel both All My Children and One Life to Live. All My Children will end its 41-year run in September, One Life to Live will bow out in January after 43 years.

Wow. I expected AMC to get canceled this year, but not OLTL (I thought it would be cancelled next year).

In one of my tweets, I got the dates backwards: ALL MY CHILDREN will go off the air in September, #OLTL will go off in January.

I'm not surprised, but it's a little disheartening to know that a legend of television is being replaced by "The Chew."

It's more like "The Screw."

I actually like Clinton and Carla a lot. It's a shame this is on a network that has failed at producing these types of shows again and again (remember the Home Show?).

Good thing I haven't renewed my subscription to Soap Opera Digest yet. That's bound to fold soon too.

Very sad day for soap fans. My sympathies to all the AMC and OLTL fans. This is terrible news.

I called this long before ML. They'd just axe them both, give one longer than the other. Wow. I knew it was coming, but damn...that hurts.

IMO Frons is jumping for joy. I've always felt as if he hates soaps and soap fans. Screw him.
