EW: DAYS To Attempt Gay Storyline?

I hope Corday didn't seriously use Abe and Roman as examples. Who the hell wants to see Abe or Roman in ANY love scene? Period!

It's too bad soaps haven't [openly & directly] catered and marketed to gay men earlier. Adult gay men (i.e. non-twink twenty-somethings who blow their rent money on Lady Gaga tickets) have the money that's more expendable since they [mostly] don't have children to support.

Maybe back in the day, seeing Josh Taylor, or even Wayne Northrop, in a love scene wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world. ;-)

Wayne Northrop, yes, in the 80's (he was good as the seductive chauffeur on Dynasty!). But it's always been a big NO for me with Josh Taylor (a.k.a. Dylan's father, a.k.a. The Hogan Family father, lol)

Most of it was MAB's fault, although I think that it all ended up getting much bigger when they tried to use this as a reason Chris Engen quit. Then suddenly these oh so shocking scenes of Adam straightening another man's tie appeared, and it became a joke. The five minute story of Phillip's return was even more ridiculous. But still, that type of story is the type that will win a GLAAD Award. GLAD bag, more like.

What I liked about the way Kyle and Fish were included was the sense of community and friendship that OLTL had not had in a long time, and which soaps had not had in recent years. They made their own family. It was very unique. To see that tossed away in favor of insta-families like the Fords and Rex sucking the life out of yet another paternity saga was incredibly depressing. And the show lost tons of viewers. Funny how ABC did not go to the press and blame shaven monkeys for ratings losses.

+1.

King at Daytime Royalty posted that his source said it's Chad DiMera.

Interesting! If It's Chad, I could get behind it though he did have a relationship w/Mia that we saw which resulted in a child, but I could believe that he's really gay if DAYS does it right. I really still have some hope that they're going for Will/Chad (with the new guy Ryan maybe added in, or maybe that guy is for Abby since her & Chad might not last...idk).

I personally think the perfect think to do to start Will/Chad would be to have them at a party or rave and end up in a drunken kiss (pursued by one or the other. Or both!)

If it's Chad, they should make him bi. Besides... So much more drama that way. They don't always have to bring in another gay male character for triangles and what not.

LOL, this is getting international press.

I was reading one of the main swedish newspapers/tabloids websites and there was an article about Days getting their first gay storyline.

Correction: their first intentionally gay storyline. ;-)

Chad DiMera? HAHA! On other boards I find people who are sickened by the thought of Will/Chad being a gay couple but are fine with Will being gay with someone else. I'm guessing that people expect the less masculine Will to be the one TPTB would choose, BUT, they may choose the more masculine Chad instead. I'll view this as revenge if Chad is the one. LOL.

Not to be a...I don't know what you would call it...but it'd be nice if it were someone really surprising, you know? Someone we never saw coming (so to speak).

I've always seen Lexie has a lesbian.

I would prefer Will/Chad together but if they were going to go with just one, Chad would actually be the better choice when you think about it. Will being gay wouldn't produce much drama at all. Sure, maybe Sami and even Kate would be put off by it at first but I think they'd both come around sooner rather than later. Also, Will's extended family like Roman, Caroline, Bo, etc. would support him instantly. So there wouldn't be much drama with him. Chad? OH CHAD! This young DiMera being gay would be like the gates of hell opening up, especially with Stefano involved! Plus, Will would be the perfect young man to help his best friend through the trials and tribulations of his sexuality.
