Members leahanna
it's AMC, as a OLTL fan I am relieved as OLTL has had their budget slashed already but I feel sorry for AMC and as a soap fan since I was introduced to them by my grandmother, I am just sad

Members ChitHappens
Get rid of Vanessa Marcil Giowhatever, and the problem is solved. She is worthless and too overrated. GH should be trying to re-build, but they keep going to VMG as a pinch hitter when it simply does not work anymore. ANDREA
Members bellcurve
She came to them this time around and of course, Guza and Frons ate that sh*t up.
Members leahanna
I don't see Frons ever slashing GH's budget, that should be the show to get their budget reduced is I have a feeling OLTL and AMC have had their budgets reduced to pay for GH
Members shadow
Slashing GH's budget would mean no more Franco

Members LoyaltoAMC
If this rumor is true, it could be any show. Do we know for sure that OLTL comes in under budget? I keep hearing that here, but is that just speculation or wishful thinking? They've got some pricey actors (Slezak, Kerwin, Strasser, Woods, ver Dorn, Smith, DePaiva, Tognoni), they just hired Ted King and there are rumors of Howarth returning, both of whom are not cheap. And let's not forget the high cost of taping in NYC. If they are under budget, what are they doing differently than the other soaps? Having said that, I don't see ABC cancelling any of the shows anytime soon. I think they're still viable.
Members dragonflies
I agree, but from what Guza said in SID recently she's here till at least her contract is up in August
Members LeClerc
I think Jamey's "it ain't in NYC" is supposed to imply more than just it not being OLTL. I think he's also referring to AMC's move. Plus if you add in his report that Frons has been admitting around the office that he really regrets not getting a handle on AMC's writing problem years ago it's clear something is up. Members teplin
They gave up the noon hour to their affiliates long ago and there's no way they're getting it back.
Members bellcurve
I often confuse the east with central timezone. But the news hour could go live at Noon eastern and go on a delay at 1PM for those that air AMC at 1 Eastern. It wouldn't be an addition of hours...it would be a substitution. Members marceline
If he's been openly admitting to a screw-up, that tells me that the hammer has come down from somewhere far higher up the chain.
Members DRW50
So do you think this means they have decided AMC is too far gone or does it mean they are finally going to take serious measures to save it?
