I think that got lost somewhere around the time they dropped the Valentin story. Lucky saying Liz only had any worth when she was bleeding and unconscious in the snow from a rape said it all about the future of that relationship.

Who cares about Carolyn Hennessy?! All she ever did was pimp that stupid ass Spinelli book, RT her fans drivel, and get into fights with fans who don't like her or the show.

The final straw: I blocked Carolyn Hennessy when she said, "Megan Ward and I are the QUEENS of Twitter." <_<

But Guza kept Elizabeth around for years when JJ's Lucky was off the screen. She had quite a bit of story with Ric and then, Jason. She wasn't a pet, but it was clear that Guza found her useful. I always thought the revamp of the hospital gave Liz some purpose and then JJ's return, appeared to cement her place on the canvas. I really am surprised that Guza fired RH when there is so much story left for Liz and Lucky with the Aiden reveal. I think this has got to be more about budget cuts than anything else.

Liz also tended to drift for years - I think Guza did like her with Jason, but beyond that he seemed to have little use for her. The stuff with Ric, then carrying Jax's baby, etc. seemed to be just about other people. I don't think he cares about Jason/Sam, I think that is all Frons; Guza probably preferred Jason/Liz. But on GH most women exist only to be backup for men and Liz no longer provided that, since there was too much baggage with Lucky and Jason. I'm sure Guza didn't directly do this but I think the plans have been in motion for quite some time, around a year or so.

In a lot of ways I think JJ being back probably hurt her. She was probably seen as unworthy of being with him, since she'd been around for years, with various men, and with kids Guza through Luke told us were saddled on loser Lucky.

Guza is the one ABC headwriter/producer is reputed to have full control of his show and budget. From all reports, Guza does all the hiring and firing.

When it comes to GH, I never buy that Frons is behind every unpopular decision. It is all Guza though ABC's focus group research likely does have an impact on story direction.

I never believed the reason to recast Michael was cause by anything, but unhappiness with the previous actor's difficult onset behavior. I never bought the claim that they wanted a different look. If that was true, they would have cast Duell in the role in the first place. No doubt that the network meddles, but from every insider who has commented, Guza has full control over GH.

I think that you are right but the change in Michael's personality after the recast was huge. I think someone at ABC wanted him to be more of a young leading man (even if that means with a middle-aged stripper). Guza I think liked the idea of Michael being a little thug.

    • I'm looking forward to seeing the first 18 minutes or so that we missed earlier this episode. But I loved what I saw today: I thought that what I saw of Bill's/Ted's interaction was realistic and interesting. I know we have hardly seen them interact, but I think that they have nice chemistry together. And Iiked the dialogue that they had about their roles/mistakes in this whole paternity reveal/hurting Nicole. I would like to see them interact more together in the future. I also enjoyed Dani being there for Nicole and giving her good advice. I did lol when Dani said she wanted to take off her earrings and be left alone with Leslie, Eva, Bill and Ted... I like Nicole as always acting mature and measured and trying to process what has happened to her along with support from her sister. I like that her family supported her and gave her space (including her parents) and then she went to them when she was ready. I enjoyed her scenes with her parents at the end. Speaking of parents, Leslie continues to act like this. Her behavior towards Eva is trash and she literally threw the picture of them together at the end in the trash. She really doesn't deserve Eva, and I continue to wonder if she really is her mother. She is just too cold towards her and sees her as a means to an end. I really wonder if she thought that Ted was going to help Eva. Or if she was hoping that he would turn her away as well. I'm glad he helped her and wants to try and have a relationship with her. It will cause conflict with the rest of the family, but it's the right thing for him to do, IMO.
    • What an interesting read @Paul Raven. Thank you so much for posting it. Annette
    • She’s riveting. And how she transitioned from utter devastation after the confrontation with Leslie to hopeful in the Ted scene—so seamless. She’s easily the most exciting actress I’ve seen in daytime in a looooooooong time. If she’s not the face of this show in a few months, they’re leaving money on the table.
    • Yeah either Leslie is a demented mother, or Leslie is not the real mother.
    • Ambyr is killing it per usual. The Eva and Leslie confrontation was GOOD. I gotta admit Ted taking in Eva and promising to do right by her made me cry.    See, he can still be a decent guy

    • Leslie threw Eva's photo in the kitchen garbage can.

She threw out that picture of Eva. Im convinced Eva is NOT her daughter. She has no maternal instinct. Thats Nicole's kid   awww Ted is getting her an apartment and he said he would never leave his daughter. I love it! I bet it will be better than that dump Leslie had her in and she better not open the door for her
    • Yeah, we missed it. Eva lost her job.
    • Oh there was a Nicole/Eva scene?  wow.  yeah I will watch that later online.
    • I really like this hotel set, Ted is staying in. Looks nice.
