May 20, 201115 yr Member If Maria had any sense, she would ditch Sheffer and Hamner for Bennett. Bill would probably be proud too, as she was the only contracted actor he ever let write for Y&R. Meg also has a gene pool outside of the Bell universe, which would be helpful, since Y&R is also trying to be everything it isn't, and I know Meg is still friendly with the Bell's and Eric Braeden... May 20, 201115 yr Member O yea, I would Welcome that move too. Duh Why did I say Days when Y&R needs her more
May 21, 201115 yr Author Administrator Has Lloyd Gold always been credited as "Lucky Gold" in the credits (at GL, ATWT etc)? I believe he was credited as "Lucky" at ATWT but "Lloyd" at GL.
May 22, 201115 yr Member Did anyone read the We Love Soaps Interview with Sheri Anderson? She makes it sound as if she never worked with Reilly, though they were credited as Co-HW's for a while. I wonder what the deal was with that. http://www.welovesoaps.net/2011/05/sherianderson2.html WE LOVE SOAPS TV: You last wrote for DAYS in 1992? Sheri Anderson: I think it was just before Jim Reilly came in. Gene Palumbo and I were brought it to write a spinoff for Deidre [Hall] called MANHATTAN LIVES. Because the ratings were not as high as they wanted them to be on the show, they brought me in to DAYS to bridge before Jim. I was there when John and Isabella had first gotten married and they killed her off from pancreatic cancer. My father died of that about 10 years ago. It was done to not cheat the audience. Two months into it the actress said she was leaving and not coming back, so what do you do to not cheat the audience? You have this passionate love story so you don't want to suddenly say there's another woman. It was a very emotional story. I ended up leaving just as Kate and Lucas came in. I had brought in Billie and Austin and then Jim took over. And soon we had Marlena with demon possession. I also gather from the last bit that she wasn't a Reilly fan and hated the possession storyline... Edited May 22, 201115 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
May 22, 201115 yr Member Two things. First of all, a lot of that is your particular interpretation. Having read the interview for myself, she really doesn't seem to have any opinion on the possession storyline, let alone "hate" it. It just read as if she were giving a chronology of writers and stories. Secondly, she might have been credited as co-head writer due to some of her stories still playing in tandem with Reilly's stories for a certain time. That doesn't mean they worked together at all.
May 22, 201115 yr Member I believe she was credited with him as a Co-HW for a pretty extended period of time, something like 5 or 6 months. Though, I guess he could have been working off her material for a while, but it still seems strange. Even when a previous writer's material is still playing out and there's a change, the previous writer tends to be dropped off the credits when the new writer comes in. At least in recent history. Unless she wrote a very detailed semi-longterm bible that was subsequently executed. I inferred she didn't like the procession story because that came years after she left, and she just tacked it onto her summary, where it really didn't belong (at least chronologically). May 23, 201115 yr Member I believe he was credited as "Lucky" at ATWT but "Lloyd" at GL. And "Mr. Gold" at OLTL and "Goldie" at ANOTHER WORLD. ;-P

According to Jason47's site, they were credited as Co-HWs from December 21, 1992 - April 28, 1993. 4 months is a very long time to be credited together if Sheri left when Reilly started. Maybe I should just ask Sheri on Facebook. LOL There's been other times where Reilly's been credited with other Co-HWs: November 21, 1997 - January 5, 1998 (with Sally Sussman Morina) and then August 11, 2003 - August 18, 2003 (with Higley). Generally, I think, the credits are changed when the breakdown layouts end/start.
May 24, 201115 yr Member So, I guess it's not possible for DAYS to have worked simultaneously from Sheri Anderson's left-over story projections and JER's newly implemented ones? Alrighty, then.

Are you saying JER didn't work with SSM in November 21, 1997 - January 5, 1998 or with DH in August 11, 2003 - August 18, 2003? That means we started to see SSM's stuff in November already and not in January, right? Edited May 24, 201115 yr by Sindacco
May 24, 201115 yr Member Interesting tidbit: Darryl Ray Thomas has a facebook (as Ray Thomas). In his info section he lists one favorite show...All My Children and in his wall posts from April, he has a link to the cancellation rumor articles. One wonders how long he was shopping a headwriter gig and if AMC was at the top of his list at one point? He's an actor as well....some of the best actors turned soap writers i.e. Doug Marland so who knows...he and Marlene (who looks like Dena in her facebook profile pic) may bring DOOL to a close with dignity.

Alrighty, then. Anything's possible. Credits are weird. Sometimes people share Co-HW credits when there's a changeover and sometimes there isn't. Are you saying JER didn't work with SSM in November 21, 1997 - January 5, 1998 or with DH in August 11, 2003 - August 18, 2003? We can go straight to the source. LOL
