I grew up in the 1980s and back then EB was "the scary guy on the show after The Price is Right".

That’s interesting to learn about JD facing his own custody battle IRL.

John/Mamie abruptly ended when Mamie took Jill's $1M and went on a cruise. I loved how years later it was revealed that Mamie turned that $1M into multiple millions.

@YRfan23 @kalbir Something I just thought of but do you think Mamie would have benefited being the one to reveal she had a missing son out (maybe from a bad marriage?) there instead instead of trying to do the Keemo story for Jack? I could easily see John being the one to paying Paul & Christine to go find him much to Jill’s displeasure. But I also don’t know what the show would’ve have done with such a character other than him and Malcolm fight over a woman or have him date some rival model of Dru.

I actually thought maybe they should have somehow had it to where Dru was actually Mamie's and thats why Lillie Bell harbored her resentment because her husband had an affair with her own sister. I guess they didn't want Mamie to have as messy of a past?

@soapfan770 @YRfan23 I might be wrong, but I think Mamie's backstory was that she was widowed and childless when she came to work for the Abbott family. There's a 1988 episode where Mamie said it had been 25 years since she started working for the Abbott family.

So, I've found some stills on Facebook of vintage Y&R eps featuring Bond Gideon as Jill Foster #2 and Patricia Everly as Peggy Brooks #2 (also Charles Gray as Bill Foster, but I can't seem to locate that one again now).

I do not suppose they are on Youtube, LOL.

I haven't seen these eps since they originally aired.

The casting people for late '70s Y&R seemed to have a very different "type" (Lynne Topping also has some of those facial features). I prefer the casting of the early years.

Bond reminds me a bit of Kate Jackson here. Maybe Charlie's Angels should have hired her instead of Shelley Hack.

I thought the original casting of the show was perfection. Even though a few actors came across as green in the beginning, they all had a certain "je ne said quoi," a certain star appeal. And they all grew into their roles quite nicely. That has certainly NOT been the case since then, LOL.

She does, doesn't she? And you're right: Aaron Spelling probably should've casted her as Kate's replacement on "Charlie's Angels" rather than Shelley Hack.
