Members Chris B
Those episodes are *so* good. I loved the story with Nina where she was down on herself because Ryan wasn't interested in her and Jill told her that she'd let herself go and got her the gym membership to try and save her marriage. It's so wrong, but you could tell in her own way that Jill legitimately wanted to help. I don't even think 1997 is considered to be a great year, but t even Bill Bell on his way out was so entertaining. He left the show in great shape for Kay Alden.
Members will81
I wasn't fond of 1995 - 1997 to be honest. Still better than what came later, and late 97 until Bell's retirement was far better and I really like 98- 99 On another note - I am also confused with the Dru story, I just watched an episode from 1994 or 1995 where Olivia tells another doctor that Dru is suffering from a condition that would make having another baby 100% impossible. Did she get magically cured or something?
Members DaytimeFan
No, Jeanne was sober by the time MTS stopped talking to her (Jeanne went to rehab in 1986). It's a very weird story and only one that MTS can tell because Jeanne didn't have a clue. Agreed. Both were so important to the show I realize it would have been very difficult to get rid of either of them, but that kind of behaviour is just unprofessional.
Members Faulkner
I agree. I feel like the show really lost its way (in relative terms) in the mid-‘90s. The decline started IMO in ‘94 (a bit of an echo from the other CBS soaps, who also started freefalling creatively around that time). Speaking of which, I wonder if it’ll be addressed in Melody’s memoir. Just saw the release was pushed to August. Edit: saw @Paul Raven asked the same question. Members will81
Yeah true. Almost around the time Josh Morrow came on board. This was around the time the Jack Vietnam Vet story was getting under way, which I thought was better suited to John and not Jack, just seemed ridiculous to suggest Jack ever served in Vietnam, his whole character to that point was classic silver spoon. Also the Rick/Blade story which I was not a fan of, even though I liked the actors in the story, Brenda Epperson nailed that whole storyline as Ashley.
Members soapfan770
Does anyone by chance when Leanna Love’s final episode aired during her original run? Trying to track a concrete date down.
Members YRfan23
I always have it as March 9, 1992 Please register in order to view this content I don't have the episode but the recap where she has her last scene with Jack...although people probably didn't know it was her last scene.
Members will81
I read in a soap column that she was last seen stressing over a ideas for her next advice column. Does it say in that recap she was stressed over her work before Jack shows up?
Members YRfan23
I don't think so, It's basically Jack stopping over telling her how relived she is that Nikki made her through her back surgery... She could have put in more appearances later on we just don't know about?
Members soapfan770
Thank you!! I was looking through your February episodes to see if I could find it as I thinking it was Feb. Did she even make any return visits later on in 92 or 93? Always been curious why most places cite 1993 lol. Agreed! The best thing that the show did as the story reached its denouement was throw Jill into the mix. Walton and Diana Barton’s Mari Jo stole the show from that point on.
Members kalbir
I remember Leanna disappearing without any explanation in early 1992 but Barbara Crampton remained in the opening credits until that summer I think. I don't remember Leanna returning until 1998 during the Victor/Diane divorce.
Members soapfan770
Lol going back to that 1996-97 period, was there any reason Bell & Davidson made it into all four of the opening sequences being used at that time?
