It's a shame the show mostly struck Traci with all these men who went nowhere. Her and Steve were mainly an offscreen couple, yet they are now divorced.

i miss the old penthouse sets! Victors and Ninas the most though! I actually thought it was Ninas old set now occupied by Chelsea?

Hi everyone!  I feel bad that I am enjoying all your videos and I don’t have any to share in return.  But here is my small contribution…

I traveled to NYC for work and visited the Paley Center for Media (formerly Museum of TV and Radio). They have an extensive library of just about every show ever broadcast.  They have a nice collection of YR episodes, which I have summarized here.  If you’re ever in NYC or the other location in LA, I highly recommend a visit, to get your YR fix!

The key thing to know is that some episodes have been digitized, and are instantly available for viewing at one of the museum’s viewing stations in NYC or LA.  Some other episodes are not digitized… they are only available in an analog tape format.  The museum staff have to retrieve the analog tape and then you watch it on a special analog VCR.  I’ve noted which episodes are analog below, and this is specific to the NYC museum (I don’t know what analog tapes the LA museum has).

Listed chronologically (museum doesn’t always list airdate so in some cases I’m guessing):

First episode - 1973

Snapper and Chris Discuss Premarital Sex – 1973

Chris and Snapper’s Wedding – 1974

Chris and Snapper’s Honeymoon – 1974

Jed Plans to Divorce Betty – 1974

Jennifer Brooks discovers she has breast cancer – 1977

Nikki, Rose, and Vince dump dead client – 1979

Crazy Edward threatens Nikki’s life – 1981 - analog   (I watched this and will post a summary)

Victor & Nikki’s New Year’s Eve – 198?  - analog

Victor, Paul and Andy save Nikki from Rick Daros – 1984  - analog

Victor overcomes his impotence – 1984

Katherine Chancellor removes bandages after face lift surgery – 1984  - analog

Victor and Nikki’s Wedding 4/13/84

Paul and Andy rescue Lauren in San Francisco – 1986 - analog (I watched this and will post a summary)

Jessica Granger tells the family she has AIDS – 1988  - analog

I remember you said you visited the center, and you gave me a few notes, but I can't wait to read more details about some of those episodes you saw!  I need to get out there ASAP!! LOL

To help out with one of the airdates on there.....
Cricket and Danny w/Nan and the Crack Babies aired, July 26, 1991 ( I have that episode)

That 1990 presentation sounds fantastic! please give details to that as well! I love and always prefer old interviews/events with the cast then now!

    • no argument here! and as she was singing, i kept wondering how many verses ‘amazing grace’ had. looked it up: 13 — 13! — and i think she must have sung  every one.
    • Yasss, ANITA!!! GET HER!!!   Awww at Smitty calming Martin down.   'Oh, you're the one leaving.' That face like stone. Go 'head, Nicole.    Eva vs Kat...the gift that keeps giving.
    • I have to admit I still have a nagging complaint about timelines - Why aren't we allowed to know how long Ted and Nicole have been married or how old Kat and Eva are? Or for that matter, when Anita last released an album? BTG is a new show with no SORAS or timewarping. MVJ and Guza are working from a fresh bible. There is no need to be so coy about ages and anniversaries, especially when most of the storylines are driven by past events.
    • It was an extremely rare interview even then - I was shocked when I read it (as mentioned I'd forgotten just how far in she went). You could see how hurt and annoyed she was. I'm surprised he thought she came up with the baby story herself. She and Charles Keating did a good job with the material but it was absolute hokum. Even if they loved Carl and Rachel (and clearly they did), I don't see them coming up with stuff that, frankly, read like Geocities fan fic. Malone was clearly hobbled by NBC and P&G, but re-using so many of his old stories and his soap bible instead of actually coming up with material suited to the characters or show did not help.
    • Seeing this trash get good ratings says nothing good about daytime audiences. It's embarrassing.
    • Cat does feel committed to being a goofball (the other term has been reconsidered in recent years).  I wonder, given her brother Aaron, if Cat was less attractive prior to the surgery?  Remember the 1973 movie The Girl Most Likely to?  My fanfic for the moment is Cat commenting on how people treat her differently now that she is gorgeous.  One assumes that pre-surgery, Cat never had two men fighting over her for a date.  So, it might be fun to see that side of the story.
    • It's probably one of the only conflicts the story will have, aside from Dante being upset with Lulu when the truth comes out. They really needed someone else who actually knows Gio is Dante and Brook Lyn's son and kept quiet.
    • So Cat wasn't a creation of Ron C.. but something that the strike writers generated? Perhaps the new writers will give her some layers and purpose on the show that doesn't revolve around Chad since isn't he on his way out next year?
    • Another good show today, but -- Why is super agent Joss holding that thumb drive in plain sight instead of stashing it in her denim shorts? Make it make sense. -- Dante going after Gio (in the previews) for Rocco's alcohol poisoning is lame and cliche, just a contrived way to drive a wedge between father and son.
    • Didn't he get all angry because the strike writers set her up to be Abigail? And he just went with the first thing that came to mind in order to prevent that?
