Why was it controversial?

The resolution.

Some of Bill Bell's social issue storylines came across as heavy handed and had PSA dialog, but for the most part I think they were told in a responsible manner.

Behind-the-scenes, which shows where the Chancellor Park Café set films.

I have read the Chris Brooks rape was horrifying and quite graphic for daytime in 1973. Tony Geary who would go on to play rapist/heartthrob Luke on GH played Chris rapist George Curtis. George got off scot free. Chris asked him why he did it and he replied something gross like " Be careful who you ask to walk you home".

Trish Stewart got a lot of press at how she portrayed a rape victim. Kaye Stevens appeared on Match Game with Stewart in 1974 and mentioned that Bill Bell talked to her about what a talent Stewart was.

It's a shame she left Y&R. After a failed series and a few guest shots, she left the business.

It's really too bad they didn't replay any of the Chris stuff during the pandemic or at least posted some clips on YouTube when Geary passed away.

I agree. I wish Y&R would put their archive on streaming.
