I’m sorry that I posted such crap site.. I don’t support any of their hate speech. I was just so hooked on that Joyce scene! It was my first time seeing it and I was so happy to share it

Oh, no, no, no. Please do not apologize. It is not your fault that hate speech permeates any site upon which you happen to find a video of interest to soap fans. No one would expect you to pour through the entire Rumble archives before sharing a classic ATWT episode. I'm grateful that you let us know about the vintage upload.

I have heard some very disturbing and distasteful things about Rumble, so I don’t ever intend to venture onto that platform. I remember there were a few Black “creators” that were lured there with the promises of riches and better subscriber traction than they were getting on YouTube. A few announced that they were leaving for Rumble, expecting their subscribers to follow suit. They are back to YouTube now.

If we can find soap gems on any site, I'll investigate them readily, but fortunately we don't have to watch or endorse any of the other, toxic content out there. God knows, there are many things on Twitter/X and even Youtube I disagree with, but I just block or ignore them, and save the content I want.

On the internet, I think we all learn pretty quickly to navigate through the murky waters.

Are these retreat episodes that Ariana is posting when Melinda dies in the boating accident?

Likely so, yes.

It's OK. It's difficult to know about sites like that as they are good at fooling people.

If you or anyone else ever want to see more of that particular story, the videos came from here:

I know it has been said that P&G did not archive their soaps properly till 1979. I know UCLA has a some pre-1979 episodes in their collection, but they do not have the equipment to play them on. I wish they would reach out to someone like Obsolete Video Services on youtube to get those digitized and make them available to view. A lot of archives are turning their stuff over to him to preserve.

I would be blown away to see a late 60's color episode surface.

TBH, I’ve never had an account with FB. I was on Twitter for years but am no longer on there after Musk took ownership. It took awhile to get out of the habit but honestly, I don’t miss it. I can do without that level of toxicity.

I vaguely remember someone (Saynotoursoap?) saying the first color episode was a big deal indeed, that they used a cyclorama to depict an outdoor wedding or something like that.

There were quite a few plots in this episode so kudos to them for that at least.

IMO, there was almost TOO much going on in that episode.  You had Cricket/Margo/Brian/Tom; James/Karen/Burke (kinda) AND James/Barbara/Gunnar/Bob; Betsy/Steve/Craig/Sam; David/Ellen/Jeff/Annie; and even a little bit of stuff with Gunnar, Tucker and the Nicole lookalike.  That's a lot of storylines to cram into an episode; and aside from the stuff involving James, each character grouping seemed to operate in its' own bubble.

You're not wrong but compared to what we often get from that time (Barbara worrying, Betsy fluffing her lines, Steve flaring his nostrils, a high camp moment from Karen or Ariel, and then sometimes Margo and Tom), I wasn't sorry.

I have to admit I am not really that enthused about seeing more of 1980 ATWT (this is about the Melinda clips) but I'm glad for the newest as it's the only time I have seen Melinda with Kim or Betsy. Given that I never even remember Kim mentioning her, I appreciated the moment. And I was reminded again of how much I prefer Suzanne Davidson in the role, although I'm not surprised they recast with a more typical ingenue.

I've also been really offended with people posting Rumble links throughout the board because they apparently don't know how to use Google or link properly. I don't blame AMCOLTL for it because I suspect I know the source.

While I technically still have my ancient Facebook and Twitter accounts, my usage of those platforms has dwindled to almost nothing. The toxicity, dishonesty and unbridled hate speech on those sites is just not tolerable.

The first color episode was Mon Feb 20 1967. I don't think anything special occurred.

The 'outdoor' wedding was for David and Ellen June 1966.

Andy, Sabrina, and Frannie should have been on canvas. I thought it was hilarious and weird that after Mary Ellen Stuart took over the role of Frannie, they cast another actress as Sabrina instead of continuing the Patty Duke Identical cousins bit.

I will say though that they at least did a decent job in finding an actress for Sabrina (Claire Beacham) who bore a strong facial resemblance to MES, so it wasn’t so jarring when Sabrina came back.

Almost every Kim scene in 1991:

Kim to Bob: “You must deeeeeeal with your feeeeeeelings for Suuuuuusaaaaaaan!”

What is a cyclorama?  Is that the same thing as chromakey?

Just goes to show that my memory isn't what it used to be. Thank you.

Early 80's ATWT was a mess. Marland really made the show must see TV. I do know some fans hated the arrival of the Snyders, but the vets ( Bob, Kim, Susan, etc...) did get good story.
