September 9, 201015 yr Member 10 days or so old, but no one posted: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/news/a270326/networks-pursue-new-darren-star-series.html The title is atrocious.
September 9, 201015 yr Member Without looking at what forum this was posted to(just saw the ones to the right), at first, I thought you meant this was an article from "Star Magazine" about "Good Christian Bitches," like Amy Grant, Mrs. Joel Osteen, etc. Edited September 9, 201015 yr by bellcurve
September 9, 201015 yr Member Nevertheless, this show sounds like good, soapy fun. As long as there is something in the formula that somewhat distances it from Desperate Housewives and Sex and the City(Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle were way too much like those two shows to be different), the show should do well. I hope the title makes it past the pilot stages. It will be great to see affiliates in rural areas get antsy over the title.
September 9, 201015 yr Author Member It kind of does (sound good), but I'm always wary of shows with such... titles. It's sort of fecal/provocative. The guy who penned the pilot also wrote Soap Dish and The First Wives Club.

September 9, 201015 yr Member First I thought it could be an article of Star magazine, second I assumed it was a quote from Star, that shrew that used to be on The View, but after actually checking the thread out, the series sounds...interesting. I agree, it's time showrunners try to break the Desperate Housewives and Sex & the City mold and go with something different.
September 9, 201015 yr Member I remember most of SON hating DH's title and being sure it would scrapped before the first episode. Obviously we were wrong. All of these shows blur together for me, really. They get old really fast.

September 16, 201015 yr Author Member ABC landed it: http://www.deadline.com/2010/09/abc-lands-darren-star-dramedy-in-one-of-paul-lees-first-major-development-moves/
September 16, 201015 yr Member If this goes beyond pilot stage, Brothers & Sisters is toast, I guess.
September 16, 201015 yr Member Of course ABC got it.... which also means it'll probably be yet another DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES clone. I really do hope they break away from the mold and do something dark and fun.
October 27, 201015 yr Author Member An article on pitch season ending mentioned it: http://www.deadline.com/2010/10/tv-pitch-season-coming-to-an-end/ So it's gonna be made a series?
February 1, 201115 yr Author Member Good Christian Bitches, based on Kim Gatlin's book Good Christian Bitches, was written by Steel Magnolias and The First Wives Club scribe Robert Harling is described as "Desperate Housewives in Dallas." It centers on Amanda Vaughn, a recently divorced mother of two who, to get a fresh start, moves back to the affluent Dallas neighborhood where she grew to find herself in the whirling midst of salacious gossip, Botox, and fraud. The project was one of Lee's first buys this season and landed at ABC in September with a put pilot commitment after a bidding war. Harling, Star and Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment are executive producing. http://www.deadline.com/2011/02/abc-picks-up-marc-cherrys-hallelujah-pilot/
