I'd never heard of this Lana on GH or Meredith on SFT. The story with Meredith and her revenge plans against Jo sounds pretty good. I wonder if it was.

Was this Alex character on ATWT for long? It sounds like they must have had plans for him, if he was involved with Susan AND Kim, but I don't remember hearing much about him. And I didn't know that John was with Mary or that Don was with Natalie. They seemed to ping-pong their female characters to the same small pool of men at this time.

I'd love to see the scenes where Karen worked for Dorian. Or even Wanda making a commercial.

Those stories on AW represented the show's last period of big popularity. Olive always sounds terrifying, I don't know how she was onscreen. That story seemed to go on for quite a while. I wonder if fans were upset when John was killed off.

I wonder why a new soap like For Richer, For Poorer would want to tell a story about youth gangs. Not a great way to excite new viewers.

Bill's return on GL, is it true that was cut short because viewers couldn't accept the idea that Bill would do that to his family? It makes sense to me, from what I've seen of Bill. I wish the story had gone on longer.

I wonder if the stuff with DAYS and the plot against Doug was any good.

Meredith on SFT was played by Tina Orr. Greg, her father had known Stu when they were young. Stu's sister, Louise, was pregnant with Greg's baby before she drowned and Stu held Greg responsible for the death. The late Robert Rockwell played Greg.

On GH, Janice Heiden originated the role of Lisa / Lana in September 1977. When the Hollands took over as HW from Tex & Irving Elman, they tried to dynamize the show and a storm struck Port Charles. Various characters were introduced then: David Hamilton, nurse Dorrie Fleming, Jeff's amnesiac patient Lisa and of course Alan Quartermaine. Lisa would be revealed to be schizophrenic and faded away soon after Doug Marland became GH head writer in early 1978.

ATWT's Alex Keith was played by Jon Cypher from October 1977 to mid-1979. He ordered Susan to help convince his son Mark to follow treatment. I don't think he was popular as "supercouple" were Kim and Dan, Susan and Kevin.

I'm just finishing up research on the 1977 "Days" episodes, and in Kate Winograd's first episode script, she is listed as Dr. Martha "Kate" Winograd. First time I had ever seen that Kate was her nickname, not her real first name.

So who was playing Heather (GH), Nola (Doctors) and Nicole (EON) at this time exactly? When was the transition for those roles? I can't remember if this is when Cher's sister still played Heather or if she was gone by this time.

I'd love to see the Georgene Granger story on GL, it sounds very entertaining.

That was neat that they had Billy Clyde and Ray, the two big heavies on AMC for years, interact, even briefly.

So Rachel was blind for...what...a few weeks? I guess she was getting prepared for her lengthier stint of blindness a few years later.

I didn't know Olive had a sister.

The john/Stephanie honeymoon on SFT featured location footage in Vermont.

Interesting that the synopsis on GL states that Bill was missing for 10 years, yet Hilary is way older than that. Was that a mistake or was Bill having that affair while still living in Springfield. Wasn't there a brother named Paul?

Simone was played by Laryssa Lauret, who had been on The Doctors for most of the 70's as Karen Werner.

Jayne Bentzen was playing Nicole at this stage and Mary O'Brien was Heather. Not sure about Nola.

On GL, I would have really liked to have seen the scenes where Bert learns that Bill is alive. Undoubtedly, Charita must have acted the hell out of those scenes.

Sara's story at the time sounds very realistic and character driven.
