Thanks for these, they are filling in a lot of gaps and raising some questions.

On GH,what was Diana's mother's name and who played her? Had Diana's mother been onscreen before?

On The Doctors,MJ's sister is Ellie.Previously there was sister named Betsy(played by Carol Potter). Was Betsy Ricky's mother who died?If not who was the mother of Ricky?

Lots of great stories going on at this time. I'd love to see the stuff with Gail and Monica and the reveal of the affair, and Meredith on SFT and her mental problems, and David's death on AMC, and Betsy learning Dan is her father, and so much else.

Wow Nancy

FrenchFan, I have an SOD recap from March 1978, which was probably actually for episodes in late 1977/early 1978, not far from where you started in 1978. Would you mind if I post those or have you already posted them in the past here? I wouldn't want to duplicate what you've done.

I didn't know that Henry Slesar also wrote for SFT. How did his regime go over with the fans? Was he headwriter for a long time? Did he turn SFT into EON the 2nd?

Very interesting reading Love of Life... it sounded semi-interesting during that time.. How did it play out on screen? How did Gabrielle Upton do as headwriter? Was she there for a long time?

Upton was there up to summer or early fall 1978. I put a synopsis for September or October 1978 or somewhere around there in the LOL section and there are some other synopses too from around then. She was replaced by Jean Holloway, who was known for basically killing the show.

I didn't know Kylie was a name you heard very often in the US until Kylie Minogue and Kylie Travis.

Do you think they dropped the Jo story because of unpopularity or because they were not giving her stories?

I don't know why Slesar dropped the storlyine with Jo which sounds good. He introduced Ted Adamson which is a good point and he wrote Steve Kaslo's death. Christopher Schemering praised him for this death on his encyclopedia.

Who knows why Jo's romance was dropped?Greg wasn't exactly the most exciting character.Maybe because it isolated her - I think Slesar moved more towards Jo & John's friendship, which caused Stephanie to be jealous and eventually have an affair with Ted.

From what I recall Ted wasn't a major character until Wayne Tippit took on the role and his daughters Sunny and Laine were introduced by the Corringtons, who would give Jo romance again with Martin.

Was Liza still Meg Bennett or had Hope Busby taken over? When did Sherry Mathis become Liza?

Looking forward to more from 78.

Thanks. I think, based on SOD putting synoposes out a few months after they aired, that this recap would be more around December 1977 or January 1978. But again thanks so much, you do so much with these recaps I wouldn't want to step on your toes so that's why I wanted to ask. I have a few SOD from 1977-1978 but I'll put the one from the 3/78 SOD as that's around the same time as this. I'll put it in a different thread so as not to blur them together too much.
