Got this odd feeling that AMC is going to become the 'new ATWT' or even GL back when it was good. The shows seems to be muli-gen and focused on family. I've only seen a few episodes but might start tuning in soon. I am over all the blood and guts of Y&R and FamPorn of B&B

For the record I absolutely do not consider RPG's mugging to be humor. :P

Indeed it is.

I don't believe that soap viewers switch to other showswhen their soaps go off the air anyway. The average viewer just isn't that loyal to the genre. When ATWT is gone, those people will start watching Cold Case and Law & Order. JMHO.

?? I always thought sweeps were every 3 months

FEB March April MAY June July AUGUST September October NOVEMBER December January.

I'm also pretty sure I have soap mags with covers saying "August Sweeps".

marceline ...where did you get those dates?? Did they change the months or am I just crazy??

I'm pretty sure it's always been July, though I had a few misonceptions of my own, including the notion that July was a mini-sweeps of sorts and was only conducted for daytime.

If OLTL can just make it up a 2.0 in household and hold steady with demos, they will be the top soap on ABC. In 18-49 year olds, they are coming up on the heals of GH. I also think ATWT, at this point, has a lot of those old school soap fans: Who else would watch? This isn't anything like the GH/GL situation, with GL airing often in the AM.
