Members JackPeyton
WHAT? How the hell did they pull this off. The hair on these shows suck!
Members bellcurve
Better yet, how did any of those shows get nominated for hairstyling? Everyone's hair looks like it's been blown in the wind for about five hours on B&B and ATWT gives the same hairstyle to the same brunette actresses. I swear, there were times when I wondered if they were doing another "Lily has a double" story with Noelle Beck and Marie Wilson, because the hairstylists gave them the same cut, color, and everything. Members Franky
Kamen Rider Dragon Knight FTW! But seriously, how random is that? Soap opera, talk shows, and court shows, I'm used to. Even Sesame Street. Hey, maybe I'm just out of the loop.

Members jcar03
Emmy's daydream believers Ten Daytime Emmy races to watch By MICHAEL MALONEY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ten Daytime Emmy races to keep your eye on: Drama series ABC's "All My Children" and "General Hospital" and CBS' "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful" are competing for the top honor. The "General Hospital" carnival episode could bring the show its 11th statuette for best soap. "Bold" went with the two-part episode that it also submitted for writing: The death of Ann Hamilton (played by Betty White). A dying Victor gets a new heart in "Restless" submission. "Children" selected the buildup to the murder of veteran villain Adam Chandler (his twin, Stuart, actually died). "Bold" is the defending champion, having won this award for the first time last year. Lead actor Real men not only cry, they also get nominated. Contenders weren't afraid to well up and reveal their characters' more vulnerable sides. Jon Lindstrom of "As the World Turns" and James Scott of "Days of Our Lives" bring new blood to the list of contenders. Peter Bergman's tour-de-force as a betrayed husband on "The Young and the Restless" could earn him his fourth statuette. Past nominees Doug Davidson of "Restless" and Michael Park of "Turns" are in the running this year as well. Overlooked were former multiple winners David Canary ("All My Children") as well as past nominee Grant Aleksander ("Guiding Light"). Lead actress A tie is possible. Crystal Chappell of "Guiding Light" gave a heart-wrenching performance in a same-sex romantic tale. Michelle Stafford of "The Young and the Restless," Maura West of "As the World Turns" and Bobbie Eakes of "All My Children" also each turned in emotionally driven performances. Sarah Brown (nominated for "General Hospital," which she has since departed for "The Bold and the Beautiful") could make Emmy history. She's already taken home statuettes in the supporting actress and younger actress categories. Overlooked were Susan Flannery of "The Bold and the Beautiful" and Sharon Case of "Restless." Talkshow entertainment The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences split talkshows up into two categories a few years ago -- entertainment and informative. "Rachael Ray," which combines both, could win its third consecutive Emmy in this category if votes split between "Live With Regis and Kelly" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." "Ellen" has won this award three times. Surprisingly, "Live" never has. Talkshow informative "Dr. Oz" and "Dr. Phil" are competing in this category against "Phil" spinoff "The Doctors." The TV doctors tackle a wide range of medical and psychological themes on their shows, offering advice to their viewers in the process. (Coincidentally, in 1972, the first outstanding drama series award went to a now defunct NBC soap called ... "The Doctors.") Talkshow host Nominees are Rachael Ray, Bonnie Hunt, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa, and "The View's" Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters. The women of "The View" are defending champs and feature the same panel as last year, so a repeat is a strong possibility. Watch for Philbin, who's hosting the awards, to make either a heartfelt acceptance or deliver a self-effacing ad-lib. Drama series casting Soap opera casting directors submit a 30-minute reel of actors they've hired. Some entries contain mainstream appeal. Mark Teschner of "General Hospital" included scenes with James Franco. Betty White appeared with actors portraying medical professionals on "The Bold and the Beautiful," cast by Christy Dooley. Julie Madison of "One Life to Live" offers a reel that includes soap hoppers Scott Clifton (younger leading actor nominee) and Crystal Hunt (the loathed Stacy Morasco). Familiar faces including Stephanie Gatschet of "Guiding Light" and Beth Ann Bonner of "One Life to Live" are also included in the submission from Judy Blye Wilson ("All My Children"). Marnie Saitta of "Days of Our Lives" is nominated, too. Drama series writing An abortion debate is included in the submission from "As the World Turns." "The Bold and the Beautiful" submitted two movie-worthy episodes featuring the death of Betty White's Ann. "The Young and the Restless" went with the wedding of Chloe and (a reluctant) Billy. Socially conscious "All My Children" sent in the same-sex wedding of Bianca and Reese. Legal/courtroom program Courtroom programs competed in special class programming along with non-legal shows such as "Starting Over" until 2008. Then they were given their own category. Perennial nominee "Judge Judy" contends again this year along with "The People's Court," "Judge Pirro," "Caso Cerrado" and, last year's winner, "Cristina's Court." Gameshow The off-beat "Cash Cab" could ride to its third victory as it competes against stalwarts "The Price Is Right," "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" is also nominated. From Variety. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I wouldn't of voted for Teschner either because he included Franco, sorry. I don't consider that casting.
