Dumbest SOARSINGs

I won't go into full detail about how much I hate SORASing, but given the occasional success of it I'll just list some of the dumbest SORASing ever done:

--Leah Bauer on GL. Goes without saying, and she didn't even appear at all for GL's last 2 years after that.

--Nick Newman on Y&R. Should have been kept younger longer IMO.

--Any of Brooke and Taylor's kids, B&B.

--EJ on Days. He really should have been some long lost son of Tony and Anna or made into Benji DiMera.

PS just realize I switched the R and A around. :P

The Leah Bauer SORASing was pretty atrocious. Also Colby Chandler on AMC was pretty bad. She went from 5 to 15 over the course of a few months. That situation was made all the worse by the constant recasting and horrible writing.

I generally don't mind SORASing, if it's within five years of how old they are supposed to be. I find watching kids age naturally on soaps to be a bit of a drag; especially once they hit those 8-13 years, where they are too old to be cutely carried around in their parents arms...and too young for the sex/drug storyline. Duke Buchanan on OLTL was too old, but watching Jessica/Starr/Matthew age in real time was tedious.

How about Dani on OLTL? Does she even count seeing as how she didn't exist? And does OLTL think they get a free pass for poking fun at themselves? :P

And Jennifer Gareis as Texas Battle's mother? I have so many problems with that I can't even...

Knots Landing: Jason Avery, they recast him more than once and he never grew. He was supposed to be the same age as Abby's daughter Olivia, but he stayed the same age, while she grew. Bizarre, not exactly SORAS, but bad continuity.

All My Children: Erica Kane was deSORASED by over ten years to account for the creation of Kendall.

I think soaps are better without SORAS, it shows a lack of creativity.

That was the first person that came to mind. So dumb, so pointless to do so, and totally effs up the timelines of Rick, Harley, etc. DAYS' EJ is a close second. They could've written it another way than to have him be Susan's son... it's not like Eileen Davidson ever even returned for a cameo appearance (a photo doesn't count!)

All the other SORASing of the 'Saved by the Belle' teen scene made sense, given their parents and whatnot (I can forgive Phillip being much older than Will even though they were both born in 1995, because Phillip's parents are much older than Will's)

Yeah, E.J.'s SORASing was pretty heinous. To me, James Scott looks older than Ali Sweeney; yet, he's playing a character who was born at least 15 years after hers'.

I don't wanna even think about Leah Bauer or Kendall Hart.

Days Teens of the late 90s/early 00s. This is the WORST case of SORASing. They went and SORASed most kids under 12 to about the same age. Didnt matter when they were born, what the history was behind them; some even out of order. It was a hot mess

I still laugh/can't get over the fact that on AMC when Jake Martin thought he was the father of infant Colby...Amanda was a child, about what...8? Now look at how Jake and Amanda are together with a son...Jake apparently doesnt age much!(since they dont play him to be wayyy older than Amanda)

Days: SORAS'ing Scotty Banning was such a horrendous mistake. Poor Susan Hayes. And the ABSOLUTE worst SORAS'ing was aging Ellen Lowell on ATWT due to her children rapid againg.

The SORAS'ing of EJ or Leah doesn't even compare to these two heinous decisions.
