From TV Guide:

paraphrased

It says on May 3rd Jack will finally realize his current wife Emily is his ex-wife Patty.

PB says it is crazy stuff to play but he has to defend his character because he's so wild about Emily, and that they had a short courtship, and he kept ignoring all the red flags till it was too late.

Jack will find out "Emily" has Patty's diary, he looks at one page and realizes something is terribly amiss. He confronts her and she denies it. He will then put a plan in motion to expose her.

PB says this has never been his favorite plot device but credits SH for making it work.

Jack will be determined to fix things with the real Emily. He says she might not be too open to that after spending all that time in a padded cell. She'll be wondering why it took Jack so long to figure this out. Two weeks she might be able to forgive, but probably not four months.

Maybe I would care if they didn't dumb Jack down so badly in order to tell this STUPID story. It's one of the big reasons why I quit watching.

This show is a mess.

And please, JUST LET EMILY AND PATTY GO. STACY HAIDUK IS NOT WORTH IT! SHE'S NOT THE STAR OF Y&R!

I have no intention of watching Jack with any character played by Stacy Haiduk again.

How in the world does Emily have moral high ground when she chose to get involved with him in the first place? She went on and on to him about how he'd caused Patty's madness, yet she still got together with him. Is she surprised that he's not exactly a great husband?

Just a lousy story, and it sounds like PB agrees.

This could have worked if they arranged things differently from the outset. They should have not had Victor be the one to dig her up... they should have just had her breeze into town, and then slowly reveal who she was. but WAIT, what needed to happen was that Patty Jane is really some psychotic Jane Doe, who was in group thearapy with the REAL Patty, and wanted to steal her former life... and after all the reveal went down, MONTHS later... after she's gotten out on a technicality and wreaked havoc... THEN Lilibet Stern marches in to town to the jaw dropping amazement of everyone. (this would have required Emily Peterson to NOT EXIST)

Dumb as hell. I cant see how anyone at the insane asylum cant see that Emily's roots are showing and that her hair is a dye job. Isnt Paul supposed to be a PI? Why hasnt he picked up on that?

Paul has always been a really awful PI, its the only thing that does ring true on this show these days. Patty probably drugs her once a week and pours more of that purse peroxide on her hair!

OTOH, PB played the "Bill Bell Did It, Too!" card in that same interview; so, now he's officially persona non grata with me.

F this Bill Bell did it too crap... Bill Bell made it work 80% of the time and when he didn't he cut his losses and moved in a different direction. These louts shouldn't even be able to say the NAME William Bell. Someone needs to tell Maria and co. that they aren't in Kansas anymore... and then punch their teeth out.

Well, actually, PB crossed the line w/ me when he made those comments re: VR. But I was willing to "live and let live," so to speak, b/c, after all, you can't ask a White man to understand how a Black woman feels. OTOH, he was there when Bill Bell was still in charge, so he knows damn well this [!@#$%^&*] MAB and Co.'s writing now ain't Y&R by a longshot.

    • I loved watching Shanice hand Leslie her ass and finally shutting her up. It was so good. I also love Martin & Smitty's family.  Anita has to have some sort of plan giving Leslie the tickets to mail for Winterfest. She has to be setting her up for a fall. It's pretty obvious to me Vernon is not cheating with Sharon. I think Sharon is helping him with his terrible singing voice for Winterfest. I still believe Bill & Dani are endgame but I love Dani & Andre too. I am definitely enjoying this story. And making Hayley a black widow is a nice twist.
    • Sorry for the spam. Wasn't sure where to put this, it's from Tony Geary's husband's IG. Tony watching Genie and Maurice on Mo's show.
    • This show is really trundling along BTW. When is someone going to show up to slit Beastmaster's throat or crack the whip on metrosexual Sidwell? (BTW, openly presenting this cheery bon vivant as casually bisexual would at least be something vaguely diverting.) At least kill Brennan by year's end. I'm bored.
    • She told Vanessa to "DOUBLE her offer" on the Jarvis house.  The Jarvis family accepted the doubled price.  Assuming the house has an appraised value of $2,000,000, she's theoretically paid the Jarvis family $4,000,000 for the house.  The bank would loan Leslie 80% of the appraised value ($1,600,000), and Leslie had to pay the balance with cash at closing --- $2,200,000.  She only had ONE million.  Where the hell did she get the rest?!  And now she's got contractors working on the house all day & half the night.  Who's paying THEM?  I keep thinking all this will crash around her.  Either that or the writers have absolutely no idea the limits of a million dollars.  Sounds like a "lot of money", but it obviously ain't when we look at Leslie's spending since she got that million dollar check in August.

    • Vernon is an idiot. Why would he have Sharon in the same hotel that Leslie is staying at?
    • Yes, that out of the blue return was odd. Maybe GG found a forgotten clause in the contract he signed when he was wooed to ABC and they were forced to take him back! Like George Reinholt he talked about the contract that promised him primetime roles. But it was loaded in the networks favor. I think it was Gloria Loring that re-signed at Days on the promise of primetime opportunities, but that was all it was- she was put up for guest spots and TV movies but not necessarily guaranteed that she get the role.
    • I still am baffled by why Monty brought back stunt hire Gerald Gordon in the early '80s out of nowhere for like a year. I haven't found anyone who can come up with a thing he did in that second stint of note.
    • It's interesting to watch this having watched The Doctors. I'm not sure I'm seeing that much of a difference in the characters Gerald Gordon and Anna Stuart played on The Doctors and what they're playing here.
    • I keep forgetting a huge chunk of that year was written by scabs. You're probably right, because by the time the strike was over, they were likely planning an exit for Alan's character as it must have been obvious by then that Bernau was not going to return. If he was still there, it's also doubtful they would have approached MZ and MG about coming back. Wild.
