That article is horribly written.

I also love that they let us know no one liked Kyle or Fish. I actually laughed out loud when she said Cristian was more ingrained to the fabric of Llanview. Sorry, I like Cris, but when you have to go back 12 years to give a character a story, that's not ingrained.

You know what the writing for Viki and Clint for most of that time was? SOL. Viki's main story was nearly shooting Kevin because of Karen Fairgate's brother hypnotizing her. Clint had zero stories. He barely appeared. Bo and Nora had zero stories when she was co-headwriter.

That article is a piece of [!@#$%^&*].

So it's impossible to develop characters and flesh them out and build upon them. Oh wait, I forgot. Sorry. I forgot that the only way to introduce new characters is to hit the ground running and shove them down our throats from day one.

1. Yes, he is. Todd is a serial rapist who abuses everyone who's stupid enough to care about him, and he's just all the rage.

2. Wow. Because I guess they haven't been embroiled in this baby drama with the BIGGEST SCREEN TIME HOGGERS ON THE WHOLE SHOW for months. Right. And many of us will miss them, you frivolous, frivolous woman.

3. Who exactly was Cristian connected to before this ridiculous story with Jess? Layla? And Rex? Really? Really? If you think John-Paul could have risen to the plate to play that story the way Brett and Scott did, then I really have to question your employers.

Don't you wish the soaps got NO coverage if this is the type of article showcased for the non-soap watching public? Yeah, I was logging into my AOL when I saw HBS's face pop up. If this is front page news, I feel like someone somewhere at AOL knows more, knows worse.

She does have a point however, if Cris and Rex had decided to taste the rainbow... ratings meet roof. And all of the social implications, can men be bisexual, will their women take them back, will they be "ruined" for future heterosexual romances, and so on.

Wow what a horribly written article. She must not ever seen any of Jean's work, that, and to suggest that nobody will miss Kyle and Fish? Yeah, getting rid of them probably won't kill the show, but they'll be missed by a lot of people and many are pissed that they leaving.

And also it's an issue of tje whole being greater than the sum of its parts. There were certainly Kyle and Fish fans but it's Kish that stengthened their individual fanbases, it's Kish who people were longing and fighting for. Their union propelled them out of dayplayer obscurity into something special for daytime. Dani is Todd and Tea's daughter yet she'll never have what satellite Kyle and Fish had.

I don't think the ratings would go up if Cris or Rex became gay. JPL ruins any story he touches and Fumero, as capable as he can sometimes be, would only really be able to carry this type of tale if he were doing porn. A major story where he questioned his sexuality would be much more than he can handle as an actor. The writing also would have to improve. I think a lot of the writing for Kish was so heavy on offcamera backstory and on gimmicks and that pointless triangle with Nick, unfortunately it didn't really pick up until they began dating. By then it was probably too late.

Tennessee Williams it would be not, but I think long-term (and even short-term) fan curiosity would have folks tuning in to see Cris and Rex as a blossoming couple. It would most likely be a big ball of mess, but having Gigi, Shayne, Natalie, Jessica, Roxy, Layla, Carlotta, you name it, dealing with this would provide some dramatic and certainly comical material. But seeing an honest to goodness young gay couple is the more important story to be told. I swear, Degrassi is miles ahead of the U.S. daytime soaps in this regard.

I'm sorry - Cristian and Rex would not bring the ratings up.

Rex with someone new or previously unseen, you might still be able to do a gay/bi story with him. Cris/Rex - no one will care except the gay fans. And we are important, but we're not the whole world, and I think a mixed audience, gay, str8 or otherwise, that's been watching long enough would be like, 'please, they're not both gay.' As a fan I'd roll my eyes.
