After the chaotic energy of that RHONY episode, I was not feeling RHOBH so much. Yes, the shots of Lake Tahoe are magnificent, and everybody looks gorgeous. I'm not crazy about Crystal but would seriously wear everything in her suitcase.

The show is trying hard, and Kathy especially is bringing that kooky warmth and getting everybody involved in drinking games. But that convo between Garcelle and Erika on the dock -- eek. Two work colleagues bumping into each other near the printer and don't know what to say. Garcelle asks how Tom is doing, and Erikabot spits out a few well-honed platitudes of nothingness. Some of these women are talking AT each other instead of TO each other.

Nothing illustrates this more than whatever TF Rinna was trying to do with that 'rapist friend' analogy. It felt very performative and scripted, judging by Kyle's knowing smirk, and right on cue, Erika and Door-It jumped in with their "Lisa hasn't said a word about Denise's secrets" lines. Like anyone believes Rinna can keep a secret other than her own!

@NothinButAttitude Rinna is such an unpleasant and vindictive person. She's not just satisfied with seeing off people she hates (Kim, LVP, Denise) -- she has to keep obliterating them publicly even after they are long gone.

Rinna's little speech of meaninglessness, on the surface, was meant to make her look like the good guy (FAIL on that count). On a deeper level, I believe it was staged to trigger Garcelle and get her to react negatively. That way Rinna could play the 'Look how mean and unforgiving Garcelle is being' card. Which she is already doing on TMZ.

Crystal vs Sutton. I see both sides. Sutton is socially awkward, insecure and perhaps a bit Karen-y (though not in an Amy Cooper way). Crystal is an icy b!tch who does not like her and is happy to target the weak link. Both used this trip to stir it up and get a feud going. Sutton probably regrets her antics, but Crystal is all-in picking on Sutton. And @Taoboi Crystal is a close friend of Terri's?? That explains A LOT.

No-one can point their toes with a cast! I know, I've tried. I personally am a little skeeved by all the shoes/Uggs on the bed linen, but that's a pet peeve.

Robyn def picked the shot where she looks great!

41 min interview with "spiritual gangster" Falynn.

I wish Bravo would give her a peach because this mess is the only story that I am interested in! FOH is not enough as Porsha will pull rank and the power dynamic will be off.

RHOC:

So contract letters are apparently being sent out today. And Tamra said a few days ago that she had not heard anything regarding whether she and Heather Dubrow rejoin OC. If that is true, I am absolutely dying. Surely Bravo wouldn't pass up the opportunity to bring back these two heavy-hitters!

Meanwhile in Bizarro Land: Lizzie Vargas might have got her contract renewed...?

More being released from this RHOP x Telfar x UGGs x InStyle photoshoot where More is More!

That's a funny analogy. Just like when Garcelle and Rinna were admiring the beams of the ceiling.

How ridiculously hypocritical (and funny) for Crystal to burst into tears and be all verklempt over Sutton seeing her nekkid a full 24 hours prior. Quite a delayed reaction. Two basket cases with easy trigger points. What, did Crystal not like Sutton inferring that she might've walked in on her masturbating or something? Gurl bye.

Ah so Terri DeMarques Houston gave Crystal pointers on how to navigate through RHOBH. Well it's no wonder she's cozied up to Kyle; gotta get in good with one of the producers!

With RHOC I’m taking a RHOA stance and not paying attention to the casting until they’re filming or have something confirmed. I don’t wanna get my hopes up when it’s likely for both shows we will get more of the same. I *hope* RHOC gets a proper reboot, but we will see.

Some RHOD news….

Multiple bloggers have mentioned on Twitter that Kameron and Kary are DMing them to get dirt on Tiffany to use for next season. Another sign Kameron will return is that on her podcast this week she had a Black scholar on explaining racism and micro aggressions to her. She claimed it was because her husband had said some offensive things, but didn’t acknowledge her own behavior.

Apparently The Fall of the House of Girardi went out on Hulu last night, with talking head contributions from Danielle Staub and Dana/Pam.

And apparently this rumor about RHOC Braunwyn and Fernanda (both thirsty AF IMO) is pervading Twitter.

Not just Kameron and Kary but also Cary Deuber was named by a blogger, and she went straight on her Instagram to deny it and ask them to show receipts. I know the Deubers are kind of a$$holey but I'm hoping My Cary wouldn't quite stoop to this. As she pointed it, she's still busy working full-time in her husband's practice (something I always appreciated about her).

I can't with Kam's podcast. I mean, can Chair Chart Westcott come on there and give a full apology to Tiffany?

    • As it happens, 40 years ago this week, ABC and CBS revealed their 1985-86 fall schedules. NBC revealed theirs the week before. ABC's would end up changing. The original plan for Tuesdays was to have Diff'rent Strokes lead the night, with He's the Mayor at 8:30, followed by Who's the Boss at 9, Growing Pains at 9:30, and Moonlighting at 10. There was some surprise over MacGruder & Loud not getting renewed, but it was considered part of Aaron Spelling's declining influence at the network. Yes, Dynasty was still a hit (for a while longer), but Aaron's shows steadily took up less and less of the schedule. Fall 1984: Seven hours, five of which were new programming (Dynasty, Hotel, Glitter, Matt Houston, T.J. Hooker, The Love Boat, Finder of Lost Loves; MacGruder & Loud aired at midseason, by which time Glitter was gone.). Fall 1985: Five hours, two of which were new programming (Dynasty, Hotel, The Colbys, Hollywood Beat, The Love Boat). Fall 1986: Three-and-a-half hours, a half-hour of which was new programming (Dynasty, Hotel, The Colbys, Life With Lucy). Fall 1987: Two hours, none of which was new programming (Dynasty and Hotel; HeartBeat premiered at midseason). Fall-winter 1988: Two hours, none of which was new programming (Dynasty and HeartBeat). This led to Variety's infamous shady headline in spring 1989: "Aaron's Dynasty Over"
    • I hope for a multi-year renewal, too! This is the only show I've been excited to see the next episode in forever. Considering their demos are quite decent. the initial episodes showed there is still an interest in daytime, and it has helped to boost the rest of the soap line up at times, it should be around for a while.

    • I agree.  How many times did we have to watch Bobby vs. J.R., or Blake vs. Alexis, knowing that nothing would change at the end, and that everything would go back to status quo, so that they could fight the same, exhausting battles all over again?  If nothing else, I give FC and KL credit for trying to keep things fresh, even if I think FC, in particular, went too far in the other direction and became unrecognizable even to the most diehard fans. Exactly.  Plus, because viewers were so burned out by the kind of serialized storytelling that was beginning to affect even half-hour comedies, I think MSW represented a nice change of pace.  You didn't have to watch every week, or watch from the beginning of each season, to know what was going on with Miss Fletcher.  Instead, you could watch a complete story in one episode, de-stress from whatever had happened in your own life last week, gear yourself up for the week ahead, and be okay. If you notice, though, there were differences between those two shows and what Aaron Spelling had produced in the past.  For one thing, there was a greater emphasis on youth; and while characters on 90210 and MP certainly had more disposable incomes than the average viewer, their wealth wasn't as opulent as what we'd seen on DYNASTY or on "Hart to Hart."  Even the battles among Alison, Amanda, Billy and others at that advertising agency weren't as histrionic as those between Denver Carrington and ColbyCo.
    • I saw a conversation yesterday with Liam with the 7 dwarves hat and Steffy -  I know she did not say re: Hope and Liam said - well look at Finn and you forgave him right?      I know I did not hear Steffy say “well but you can’t compare that to…”  For *uck sake someone call the bitch out!?     You’re right, we shouldn’t compare your forgiveness for the dude with devil spawn seed whose daughter locked you in a cage along with crazy stepmom/mom/Grandmother who has also SHOT YOU BOTH - and multiple murder attempts but you have to exist with them / Hope’s part in a takeover which you know was FAR LESS THAN CARTER BECAUSE HOPE IS NOT AN ATTORNEY…. Goodness no, no the same thing at alllllllll.   When they do Steffy’s absence at least let it be because they all find out what a manipulative ho she is in her own right.
    • I think a lot of us still agree with that. I do hope that the resurgence in the soap world with Beyond the Gates will push ABC to either bring back these shows or produce a newer one.
    • So, this was fun. Elsewhere, friendly to polls, a poll on what do you want to see at the Nurses Ball. The Gio reveal got 18%, for Blaze to return & sing also got 18%, for Jennifer Hudson to do a cameo & sing got 10% and for Lucy to lose various parts of clothing got 9% but the huge one was the reveal of Drew/Nina sex which got a whopping 45%!
    •   I liked the effect of the curtains closing. Yeah it was like the end of Act I.   Or maybe they are simply trying to emphasize the drama of the end of an episode -- instead of a random abrupt end that has happened in some prior episodes.
    • I posted this in the behind the scenes thread but I know this thread is busier so wanted to mention it here as well. During their instagram live yesterday, Daphnee Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant mentioned that they will find out this month if the show is renewed for another season. Just a heads up so we can keep an eye out for an announcement and keep our fingers crossed for a multi-year renewal!
    • They haven't explained the ownership of the Bistro, but Doug told Holly the other day he didn't get the job there. Basically Roman just hired Doug on the spot and gave him a room.  It was really nice of Roman.  I don't know if he knows who Doug is or that he stole Julie's necklace.  That was unclear-at least to me. ETA-I feel like the Bistro might just die and people will just pretend to order food there like Leo did today.  Sophia is on bed rest so no one works there anymore.  They can use that set for something else.
