No BH discussion? It has been largely quiet on the internet front regarding this episode -- the first in which LVP did not appear at all.

 

Well, I thought it was OK. Don't get me wrong, something was definitely missing. The chemistry between the women needs work: it is more strategic alliances as opposed to actual friendships. The dynamic was different, but in some ways it was lighter.

 

These chicks HAVE to prove themselves without LVP to lean on, though. She came up a lot -- mostly by Teddi. Teddi also nailed Camille for her pot-stirring. Camille came off thirsty and try-hard this episode. It's clear that she is the next target for this group.

 

I was surprised at how quiet Rinna was. She was almost a non-entity.

 

Denise was definitely the most entertaining. What was interesting was the way Erika acts around her -- jumpy and nervous, like she was feeling the pressure to dominate. When Denise wowed everybody with her happy-endings story, Erika felt the need to jump in about how Tom had been with hookers or some such nonsense. Erika seems to be intimidated by Denise, while also being a little bit star-struck and wanting to impress her.

 

I hate to say it because I cannot stand her fake ass, but Dorit came across OK this episode. She was good at a lot things on this camping trip, and that was.... surprising. I'm sure I will go back to hating her next week.

 

Oh! Speaking of the Kemsley's, apparently PK settled with the Bellagio today! Just in time for Reunion.

I actually thought Camille did good this episode. She brought up her issues with Teddi and mentioned that she discussed it with Denise before Denise had an opportunity to say anything so she wasn’t on the defense. I liked that. I thought she explained herself well and I agree. Teddi kept going back to LVP and keeps telling people, like Dorit, how they should feel and what LVP is doing even though that’s only her opinion and she doesn’t have hard facts. 

 

The one thing  this season has done is really make me dislike Teddi. Completely diffeeent than who we met last season. Even then grocery shopping was turned into an opportunity for her to gripe.

Teddi totally set this trip up so she could show off how real she is and how coddled and useless the others are. Camille saw through that right away -- and Dorit was basically beating Teddi at her own game with the activities. The hype has gone to Teddi's head this season. She is setting herself up as the morality police calling people out, and given how BH operates? LOL you in danger, girl. Somebody like Camille will be sufficiently pissed off to dig up some double-dealing on your side.

 

As for Camille, I thought she was as extra as Erika with some of the one-upmanship. But at least she is bringing pot-stirring S1 Camille to the party! Without her, everybody would just be sitting in their usual Halloween costumes staring each other down (the last 3 seasons basically). IMO Camille should have got a diamond this season. She isn't a parrot like Kyle agreeing with what everyone says. And she isn't going to let herself be corralled by Teddi into becoming a foot soldier against LVP. Not that LVP will welcome her with open arms after the teeth comments, but I appreciate that Camille isn't afraid to be bitchy amid the fake-nice popularity contest that is BH.

I'm one and a half eppys behind on NYC. Now I'm intrigued. And didn't y'all say something sad happens at the end of last week's show? 

 

I liked the Potomac premiere. It's nice and fresh. I like how they began filming within weeks of the reunion show. I pretty much echo what everyone says. Monique the mom-to-be again was fab as always, Candiace had a very real and awkward moment with her mother (which I appreciate her bringing up on camera, even though the mama clearly didn't want to go there with the cameras rolling), The Grande Dame's hair is on point, I guess I'm happy for Robyn & Juan (but is Juan truly happy...?), and Ashley & Michael's foreplay scene reeked of damage control. Hell, they probably filmed that scene long after the butt-grab lawsuit.

Ive been anti Bethenny since season 7... she's exhausting.  Jason may have been a jerk..but i would be if i were with Bethenny.

Kyle has phobias yet wasnt afraid to drive that accident prone car around...hmmm. i guess fear is not logical.

I’m catching up with RHONY’s last two episodes and while this is a low key season, it’s very enjoyable. I do need new blood next year though. They need a jolt of energy. I will say though that Ramona is carrying this entire season on her back with her awkwardness! This woman is truly a national treasure.

      And, to me it is a little bit hilarious that AW fans all over continue to refer to it as Egyptian Dust Recently elsewhere I've been running polls. When did you stop watching AW or What storyline caused you to stop watching AW. You may be interested to know that sticking it out till the bitter end is winning by a landslide. Next highest vote getter is - no surprise - Frankie's murder. So that covers like 60% & next 20%. Then the votes drop way down to 10% and well below but a wide array of reasons are given, including but not limited to  Justine Lumina Rachel having twins at her age, how ridiculous Mac's death the 90 minute show firing JC, George R & Dwyer Hmm, I know there are a few more, in the 1%-3% range but I cannot think of what they are. Sorry, my bad. Should have made notes but I didn't know I would be posting about it. LOL!!

      Yes, I think that is the most likely situation.  TPTB were unhappy with the offer(s) they got from the tourism board in Finland, and decided the trip was going to be too expensive for P&G/NBC to finance alone.   I would also speculate a similar situation likely occurred a few years later with the planned location shoot in Egypt, which was also cancelled after the storyline had already started, and changed to Arizona.

      Finland seemed such an odd choice for a location shoot. ATWT went to Greece and later Spain while GL had Tenerife and there were others in that timeframe. But Finland not being a known tourist destination or offering the tropical/sunny atmosphere usually associated with location shoots seems off brand. Maybe they were negotiating a deal with a tourist association and it fell through.

      I skimmed some of the 1982 synopses; Steve was planning on an opening an office in Finland, and I think Jim went there as part of the preparation. That probably was a big issue; AW had already gone to San Diego that year, with Rachel/Steve/Mitch. And to upstate NY with Pete and Diana. I wonder if upstate was as expensive lol  AW in 1982 has always fascinated me, because of how messy it was
