October 2, 201411 yr Member Ok thanks for that clarification Eric. Well that's that. Don't know if they can (or should appeal) but at this point I think they should accept the final outcome and at least know that they have some closure....

October 2, 201411 yr Member 24 months? For what? If Joe does three, she should do at least two years. She knew what was going on and gleefully conspired with him. Again, I don't feel bad for criminals that rob others. Somewhere, Danielle is clapping. Now I wait patiently for Phraudra to get her comeuppance....
October 2, 201411 yr Member Well she didn't get 2 years so that's something and Joe didn't get the full sentence either so I'm happy about that. Like I said I don't care if they can appeal or should. At this point it's over. They can now plan and move on with their lives and hopefully learn from this.
October 2, 201411 yr Member Hopefully she does learn from this. Joe too. Though I doubt it. At least with Joe I do.
October 2, 201411 yr Member Sorry to keep flooding the thread with updates lol #GiudiceDay #TeresaGuidice is crying uncontrollably. 15 months prison sentence. Expected to report in 30-45 days #RHONJ #Giudice Looks like I was wrong in regards to her getting out early. Jack Barbosa @TheJackBarbosa · 3m3 minutes agoIf Teresa maintains good faith in Prison she can be out in 12 mths! #RHONJ#Giudice #GiudiceDay Jack Barbosa @TheJackBarbosa · 14m14 minutes ago Prosecutors were arguing to judge if Teresa walks, it proves that if you’re famous, you can lie to the court and commit bank fraud. #RHONJ TMZ claims she doesn't have to report until January 5 while the tweeter (who was in the courtroom) says she has to report within the next month and a half. We shall see. http://www.tmz.com/2014/10/02/teresa-giudice-sentenced-prison-time-rhonj/ Edited October 2, 201411 yr by Eric83
October 2, 201411 yr Member The prosecutors were right. There was no choice but to give the sentence that Teresa, frankly, deserved. She'll be in jail by November, and be out, if she behaves, by Christmas 2015. She deserves the jail time. She did it. She admitted to it. And now she has to pay for it. The girls will be fine, they have one parent while the other is in prison. It's up to Joe and Teresa to live up to their plea of guilty and set an example for their girls that this is what happens when you break the law. If they play the victim card and moan "Why me?!" their girls will be corrupted beyond belief.
October 2, 201411 yr Member I agree she deserves the time, but I'm glad it wasn't any worse. It sounds like they didn't try to make too much of an example of TG. As you say, the girls will survive it, but I feel especially bad for the younger ones.

I pity their daughters, who are innocent in all this mess, but especially because their parents didn't think about the repercussions that would befall their girls...the judge was beyond fair to Teresa, 15 months is less than the 21-27 months that she could have received under the guidelines.
October 2, 201411 yr Member So Teresa and Joe will be apart from each other for 4 and a half years. Let's hope Joe stays faithful while she's gone.
October 2, 201411 yr Member So Teresa and Joe will be apart from each other for 4 and a half years. Let's hope Joe stays faithful while she's gone. I'd like to think so but the odds are def not high. I don't believe all the nasty rumors that have been flying around but something like this can def make maintaining a marriage difficult...but don't they have those spousal visits or whatever they call them. Anyways my heart just breaks for all of them. I hope they can stick together as a family and work thru this. I do believe Joe and Tre realize that they're strong together as a unit for their girls than apart....
October 2, 201411 yr Member Judge Salas, who spoke for about 10 minutes in the Newark courtroom, said she considered sparing Teresa Giudice from prison. In the end, however, the judge said she needed to send a message. “For a moment, I thought about probation," Salas said. "For a moment." She later added: "I need to send a message that it isn’t who you are, how famous you are. If you do something wrong, there will be consequences to pay.” Edited October 2, 201411 yr by Eric83

Right. Plus there are a lot of poor women in prison who have children and who aren't violent offenders. TG committed crimes to be rich, not to survive. I was just reading an article about how some (non violent) female prisoners are shackled while giving birth and aren't allowed to have a support person with them. Outrageous, imo.
